A year ago, in number 98 of La Tempestad, we dedicated our cover song to Latin American popular music, entitled "A musical continent". In addition to interviews with Tom Zé, Liliana Herrero and Rita Indiana, we included a list of ten songs that could synthesize the spirit of the continent, a dozen covers that tried to show some high points of its heterogeneous - and quite frankly not remarkable - graphic aesthetics as well As a list of more than one hundred albums (from the fifties to the present) that, rather than trying to establish a canon, gives an account of the vast production of the region as a way to claim it against the brutal force of the Anglo-Saxon industry And also to link it with the socio-political tensions of our recent history. We wanted to show that this large cluster of songs could generate and provide us with effective (and affective) territories of different realities.
