I yet search months ago about these lists, i found many volumes on RYM (about 20 i think), but the lists are still published on magazine
and i guess today they are about 40.
The problem is (unless buying them) that i don't find all the magazines on public library and so the serie is not complete...

A quick heads-up on this one. I don't have the magazine but I've checked on their Facebook page and they explain that this special issue indeed collect several of the various mini-chapters of the métalthèque previously published and discussed here:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3611&p=52402&hilit=m%C3%A9talth%C3%A8que#p52402

However, they do mention that they've been updated and that there are also bonus albums only featured in the special issue. In my opinion, to make things more simple, we should consider that only the list as featured in the recent special issue should be eligible since it's basically the up-to-date version of the métalthèque. Now if only someone could find it.

Well, those in France'll probably have an easier time with that (as with the Jazz book, which I've had absolutely no luck finding for a reasonable price in the states).

Well, well, well. Nugent returns. But do my eyes deceive me (they probably do), or did we escape Twisted Sister this time?

Take a closer look at the Hair Metal section ;)

I got used to the idea of Ted Nugent making a big entrance on AM on the next album update. At least, to balance it out, girls will get some push as well, that's rare enough in these hard 'n' heavy lists to be of note. Music from the confederate states will also get a handful of points this time around, in the wake of the country and hip-hop lists.

You think there's any chance you'll be adding to the spreadsheet anymore, Pierre?

Phooey.

It's nice that there was a whole girls-only section. I'm hoping that rap will get a big boost.

Now complete. Sure took their sweet time to add just ~20 albums.

Then I'll put it in. Working on the spreadsheet has been a real chore, but I'm glad to be adding to AM.

I hear ya ;)

A few of the lists I posted came after the party was over for me, like the last Camion Blanc batch or the last Tsunami Edizioni batch. Or so I think. A double-check might be in order.

I'm pretty proud of my work too. And still I'm frustrated: one of the last major heavy metal lists I heard of and didn't find is the 500 greatest albums from the German mag Rock Hard. Apparently, it's not featured at all over the web. This failure is probably dwarfed by my achievements in my search for hard & heavy lists, but it manages to spoil the fun for me :D :angry-banghead: Hopefully, it'll finally pop up someday.

Oh, and good luck adding all this of course :greetings-waveyellow: Thanks for your efforts.

Thanks for the tip-off. I was just digging through the summary to see which lists hadn't been added yet. At this rate, it'll be another month or so before I've finally added all the lists I want to add.

And no prob! Ultimately, the satisfaction of adding to the site and helping Henrik out dwarfs the annoyance of adding the lists. (That 825 Albums list isn't gonna be a picnic, though).

Maybe check eBay for that Rock Hard list? Maybe someone's offering it for cheap.

For these two batches I talked about, I might take care of them if that's too much for you to handle with everything else you've got. No matter what, I may do a last round because the lion's share of all the lists to add is here and something in me whispers I might be crazy enough to be up for the task  I'm doing my best to shut it up, because another part of me reminds me that I was very tired after my last round.

Perhaps. Most probably not. Anyway, if someone else owns it or is more of a collector than me, I'll let him take the stage first. Perhaps some day it'll be on Google Books.

You might have to wait a while. If you could handle those two batches in particular, I'd definitely appreciate it, and I'm a little nervous about tackling some of the longer lists. But I'll add as much as I can before I get burn-out and then you can take care of the rest. We AMers gotta look out for each other! :)

You'll also be happy to know that I figured out a way to include the Israeli albums, so there's some more work you don't have to do.

Picture me glad. Those were definitely out of my reach - like the Taiwan and South Korea lists I posted links too.

I hear that. I just graduated high school, so I was pretty busy for a while as well. But now I'm going all-in since I have time to kill.

The Korean lists, I dunno. I don't really know how to translate Korean (the Israeli lists were aided by the fact that I found a phonetic Hebrew translator online).

Just don't care about the Asian stuff. We'll just have to wait for a specialist.

Out of curiosity, which 825 albums list were you talking about? Because if it's the FNAC list you might need to check, but I believe it's already added.

At the start of the "Help Wanted" topic, there was a first spreadsheet before the one we're working on. This list was added in this one. Just look "FNAC" up :)

It's one of the first spreadsheets in the Help Wanted! thread. Look here:

The spreadsheet is titled: Acclaimed Music_Incomplete Album Lists_HW.xls
