Well, perhaps it should at least not be added until the ranked list becomes available. Maybe also a little more about how the list was tabulated?

The songs are ranked. In the Air Tonight is ranked #1 and Hungry Heart closes the list, at #499. They just decided beside to open a poll to know which song of their top 10 is prefered by their listeners.
Concerning the video, I can't tell you, I don't understand everything :S

A good mix of soft rock/pop songs.

Any ideas what the asterisks next to certain tracks mean?

Radio-station lists are always questionable, but if these are pics of staff members, then it would meet that eligibility criteria.

Really? Most of the songs featured on this list are some of the worst '80s popular hits out there. I shoulder to even think that Kim Wilde's, an insufferable singer, version of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" even made it over The Supremes' far superior version. And don't get me started on how they chose to have "Easy Lover" on this list, and yet out of all the Phil Collins song, they forget his pretty good "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)".

Really, many songs on this list are acclaimed.

Maybe some weird choices, but overall is a good soft rock/pop list. Not amazing, but good.

And "Easy Lover" is a good song, imo.

How do you know it's ranked that way? The list on the page you linked to is not numbered. Also, on the page I linked to someone says "Hey Jude" was number one. Perhaps they have had several countdowns through the years.

This person didn't say that 'Hey Jude' was the number one on the list. She only answers to the question asked by the Radio on its Facebook page, namely, 'What song do you think is going to be #1 on our top 499 Songs of All Time Weekend?'

According to the comments posted on the first page you linked. Otherwise, it seems coherent because they used the 'TOP 10' for their listener poll. Of course, I'm not 100% sure.

I see. That makes sense. The facebook comments are not shown in order and someone said one day after the "Hey Jude" comment that there were no Beatles in the top 10. Also, the comment about "Stairway to Heaven" at #28 fits.

Yes I think so, with low weight.

Edit: However, according to their site Boom is a 70s, 80s and 90s channel. Several late 60s songs sneaked in on this list though, but I haven't noticed anything from the 00s or 10s. Perhaps these years (and "pre-Beatles" years) should be considered ineligible. Any suggestions?

No. It's clearly great to them so include it. However, I'm still disappointed this list is making the way in.

A tad over dramatic, wouldn't you say? So a few pop songs sneak in. Nothing worth shuddering about (and I'm damn sure Kim Wilde's rendition isn't going to come close to topping the Supremes' on AM).

I'm just bummed that it wasn't enough to get Rasputin by Boney M onto AM. Rah, rah, Rasputin, Russia's greatest love machine...
