30 ans des Inrocks : nos meilleurs albums depuis 1986
30 years of Inrocks: our best albums since 1986.

I don't have the magazine, they have made a top 30.

So "nos meilleurs albums" is just writers lists, they haven't actually made a top 30.
Well, not exactly, they have published "30 ans, 30 œuvres", which means "30 years, 30 works of art", so it's a top 30 but made of a bit of everything.

Albums :
The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come
Massive Attack - Blues Lines
Dominique A - La Fossette
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers)
Buena Vista Social Club - Buena Vista Social Club
Elliott Smith - Either/Or
Daft Punk - Discovery
The White Stripes - Elephant
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love

Books :
Pierre Bourdieu - La Misère du Monde
Bret Easton Ellis - American Psycho
Michel Houellebecq - Les Particules Elementaires
Lewis Trondheim & Joann Sfar- Donjon
Philippe Roth - La Tache
Christine Angot - L'Inceste
Virginie Despentes - Baise-Moi

Movies :
Eric Rohmer - Le Rayon Vert
Gus Van Sant - Gerry
Abdellatif Kechiche - La Graine et Le Mulet
Arnaud Desplechin - Comment je me suis disputé… (ma vie sexuelle)
Quentin Tarantino - Jackie Brown
David Lynch - Mulholland Drive
Apichatpong Weerasethakul - Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives
Leos Carax - Holy Motors
Wong Kar-Wai - In The Mood For Love

Others :
The Wire (TV Show)
Alain Platel - Wolf (dance)
Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Pierre Huyghe, Philippe Parreno (1998 art expo)
The West Wing

The idea is great but the picks are far from that. The book list is downright terrible. The albums and film ones are pretty meh. Not that those chosen aren't good but there are many films / albums much better than some of the picks.

Is this really a combined staff list? From a quick look at the personal top10s, I thought it looked like a race between The Stone Roses, The Queen Is Dead and Mezzanine. Now we've got Strangeways and Blue Lines instead, and The Stone Roses aren't included at all.

Theintro of this special edition says :

"Of the 30 years we have spent digging in the world of culture, we have decided to extract 30 works of art who guided this magazine. They are by Daft Punk, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Virginie Despentes, Wu-Tang Clan, Alain Platel, PJ Harvey, Bret Easton Ellis, Pierre Bourdieu, Arctic Monkeys or also Leos Carax, and each in its way devised our adventure.

Thus, we have decided to pick and relate from as close as possible those works which are fights - artistic, social and political - and which influenced our magazine. Fights who reject foregone conclusions and fix new standards. And which, most importantly, lead those who suddenly decide to write history differently."

I guess it's more consensus or editorial decisions than combined staff list.

So on top of that they now publish "30 years, 30 artists" with one (music) artist for every year (though not necessarily linked to a specific album).
With that they publish playlists of "year x in 30 songs", here is for instance the article for 1993, dedicated to the Wu-Tang, and in the bottom a playlist of 30 songs of 1993 :http://www.lesinrocks.com/2016/06/02/mu ... -11817258/

Would those playlists be eligible ?

I think they could be eligible, but Wu-Tang are not included in that playlist, which doesn't make sense. Is it the top 30 from 1993 or the top 30 beyond Wu-Tang (or beyond what's included in the "Wu-Tang and related" playlist)?
