EW has published a book with some lists in it. I don't have it in my possession right now, but you can see some online here:

In any event, there's a 25 Greatest Albums list (not able to view the whole thing online) and a "Best Singles" list, for which EW selected 25 tracks from the years 1990-2014.

Looking at the albums list (what's viewable online), there are some differences from EW's 100 Greatest Albums list that rain in 2008 (aside from new additions). For instance, Radiohead's OK Compute was ranked No. 63 on that list, and look how high it is on the new one. Even when accounting for pre-1990 albums not on the new list, that's a big difference. Also- Kanye West's My Beautiful... is top 10 on the new list, while The College Dropout is not, and was No. 10 on the 2008 list.

JR, don't forget that EW did a more recent top 100 list in 2013, as part of their "All-Time Greatest" issue; MBDTF was in the top 10 on that list.

The next time I'm in a bookstore, I'll try to transcribe the 1990-2015 top 25 from the new "Must List" book. There are no surprises in terms of the albums themselves, but the rankings are interesting. The #1 and #2 albums are both hip-hop records, and not necessarily the ones you'd expect to rank that high: #1 is The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and #2 is The Low End Theory.

Harold- yes, West's album was top 10 on that list- with The College Dropout nowhere to be found. So fickle. hehe

Solid list. Surprised they chose that Nirvana album instead of Nevermind and although I love Stankonia, Aquemini is a much better album but never gets much love on these lists. At least not as much as Stankonia gets.

Thanks, Harold. I imagine the albums and singles lists are the only AM-eligible lists in the Music section of the book. Too bad video lists aren't included.
