Number two and number three are my personal favorites, so I like this list. Though I can see why someone might feel the opposite.

Biggest surprise: four tracks from Pop, giving that much-maligned album exactly the same number of entries as War, The Unforgettable Fire, Zooropa, and All That You Can't Leave Behind. Achtung Baby has seven entries (appropriate, I think), and The Joshua Tree has five - those five comprising the entire first half of the album, with none of the second half's six tracks making the cut (really? not even "In God's Country" or "Trip Through Your Wires"?).

That's welcome for me, as I consider both Pop and Zooropa (to a lesser extent, of course) underrated on account of electronic music-phobia from rock critics. Although I can understand why some people think these albums are too much polish and atmosphere over actual musicianship. But I like those two sides of U2.

However, I'll never get their obsession for Moment of Surrender, a pretty dull track for me. No Line on the Horizon, which is lower on the list, is a better song IMO (without being fantastic either). But I'm talking about a really weak album here, not like Pop, and I wouldn't have been uncomfortable with it not being represented at all...

... in order to make room for these two, for instance.

I'm surprised that "Pride" didn't make the Top 10, because I thought that it is (or was for a long time) their signature song.

After clicking on "Moment of Surrender" on this site, I noticed that Rolling Stone is the only entity that has been heaping praise on it.

The top 3 sounds about right. "Pride" and "New Year's Day" should be in the top 10. The notable omissions for me are "Two Hearts Beat as One", "In God's Country", "The Fly" and "Staring at the Sun."

So much disrespect for War on this list. And the entries they chose (other than the big two) are somewhat suspect. "Drowning Man" is a good song, but "40" might be the worst song on the album. Would have loved to see "Seconds", "The Refugee" or "Red Light" instead.
