An unexpected #1, and an overrated one, in my view. I am not a fan of Van Dyke Parks, as a collaborator with Brian Wilson or as an artist in his own right; I think his most valuable work has been his co-production and string arrangements on Joanna Newsom's Ys. (Having said that, where's "Wonderful," my favorite song on Smile?)

26% of this list is Pet Sounds, in its entirety. As it should be. Nice to see the two instrumentals included.

Awesome list. When I clicked on this I was hoping Surf's Up would be properly rated to give it a boost. It's my favorite Beach Boys song. Love Heroes and Villains in the top ten too

It's not going to get a boost, though - as the previous post indicates, this is actually an old list, from 2012, and is already included on AM. Weird, because the MOJO blog makes it look like a brand-new list.

Sorry. My bad, newbie in the house. I agree that MOJO blog makes it look like it's a recent list. Now they're doing the same for the Beatles on an online article dated May 22, 2015 on the Beatles' 101 greatest songs when the list was out since 2006.
