The Singles Jukebox
The Singles Jukebox
Have these ever been mentioned?
http://www.thesinglesjukebox.com/
If you look on the left, the top songs from each year are listed (i.e. in order by average).
I'll type them out if it's something that might be counted.

Re: The Singles Jukebox
Hmmm, the fact that they simply list out their highest reviewed songs and call it a list gives me doubts, but these look like they could be eligible (on a personal note, thank you for mentioning the site itself fionalive, I've had great time browsing through it )
Re: The Singles Jukebox
It's a bit of a different format, but it is listed as "Best of 2013" and so forth. In a way, I think it's more accurate since it's based purely on rating (i.e. no jockeying for position by writers).Luke JR68 wrote:Hmmm, the fact that they simply list out their highest reviewed songs and call it a list gives me doubts, but these look like they could be eligible (on a personal note, thank you for mentioning the site itself fionalive, I've had great time browsing through it )
I like the diversity, too. There are some artists you don't normally see, and there's a nice mix of genres.
And, yeah, fun site!

Re: The Singles Jukebox
I think I've seen this site before and it's pretty cool. I say eligible. Thanks fionalive!
I really enjoyed the 9.00 "Vermillion" and it will be my nomination for the AMF chart.

Re: The Singles Jukebox
I think there are too many lists that cater to alternative music anyway. It's nice to get some other music represented. Plus, don't the Yeah Yeah Yeahs fit alternative? Plus, there is reggae and Latin in there, as well as pop-country and R&B. Great mix.

Re: The Singles Jukebox
It appears that the Alexa criterion for number of sites is actually not met (1,970,359), which surprised me a bit given some famous writers on the site. Not flashy enough I suppose.Henrik wrote:Inclusion criteria for EOY lists:
1. The Alexa rank should be less than 1,000,000 and the number of sites linking in should be more than 100. Both these criteria should preferably be met, but if one of the numbers is really strong that might be ok too. Printed magazines that are devoted to music are always eligible.
2. It should be clear that the list was compiled by several people (minimum three) from the staff.
3. The source needs to publish at least 10 album reviews per month, and not just recommendations with a couple of sentences per album.
4. A radio or TV channel is eligible if it is a "main station" of a country (typically a public broadcasting service with a focus on music). The staff team requirement needs to be fulfilled but not the number of reviews.
5. No record stores.

Well, that certainly turned out to be an understatement... TSJ has pretty much ruled my listening and purchasing habits in the past 3-4 months (I've also gained a minor addiction to K-Pop in the process)Luke JR68 wrote:On a personal note, thank you for mentioning the site itself fionalive, I've had great time browsing through it
