Once again, the artists with compilations will short handed (Armstrong, Bird, Ellington, Holiday). Sometimes I am very curious as to how a jazz exclusive all-time meta list would look like with the comps added. I might actually try that sometime...

It isn't perfect (they use publicly voted lists as well as critical ones, plus they take their own popular poll into account) but here's a nice jazz website I use a lot, which does include compilations. http://jazz100.sffjazz.com/index.html

Thanks for the link, that's what I have been kind of looking for, a jazz list aimed at the budding jazz aficionado.
