"Yes, you read that right. A thousand songs. Yes, they are too many. We know. The case is that recently, Indiespot reached its 1000th post, and thinking of something to celebrate, we thought ... "Why not a selection, the best thousand songs from the year 2000 to the present?". Made by us, of course. Well that's funny, I think now. Because despite the barbarity of the idea, everyone was very excited and helped in every way possible, and here we are, many hours later, hundreds of emails later, much tracking record collections later, with the final selection. A thousand songs, yes. To celebrate that one day we got a thousand posts. Divided by years, in strict alphabetical order (because if we begin to number them, we could end up throwing us off the balcony), and a selection of 40 key songs and 20 hidden gems in the form of compilations that will arrive shortly. Curiously, the greatest year has been 2007, with no less than 188 songs selected by the expert team formed for the occasion (thanks to Arnau Sabaté, Arnau Rome, Romà Bertran, Carlota Surós, and Gabriel Trindade, for the songs who proposed, and thanks to Edu, for the invaluable dirty work he has done). The bands that appear most often are Radiohead and Los Planetas, with a tie at 15 mentions each (we're big fans, yes), and followed closely by The National and Death Cab For Cutie. Well, you can start to explore the many pages of this memorial post, remembering the past years and his bands, and of course, claim those unexplained absences, sure that there is one, and for that we are. I have not checked each, but presumably yes. Although from the 1,000, they have a larger value, according to the description of each list. I feel that if we value the 1000 songs in the same way, we would not be fair. But then again, I do not know... It confuses me that they are two different lists.
