Once again I think we have to pay attention about the objective public of a web. For a web in the US (326 million people) a 1,000,000 rank in alexia may be easy to have. If you are in a country like Spain (45 million people) it is extremely difficult to reach.
If you want to be fair 1,000,000 Alexa rank in US would mean at least around 15,000,000 for a Spanish web.
Any other thing would result in an extremely US based list (as it has usually happened in AM).

For what it's worth, I support Heylazaro's point here, I'm aware Donchano has raised the same salient point about other lists from countries without the same online reach as US and Northern/Western Europe.

Would there be any scope in the future for maybe adjusting the Alexa criteria to reflect population sizes, even if on a trial basis?

I definitely agree that a lower Alexa rank could be ok for a non-English site, but #4,984,608 is much lower. There could be A LOT of sites with similar stats, maybe?

I would actually love to include this list, but also feel that consistency is necessary.....need to think more about this.
