R.E.M. rarely if ever make a bad song, but this one doesn't have too much purpose.

Heavy shizzle. Also very good shizzle. A good example of how you can use a thundering, nasty sound for pure emotion.

Edgar Winter Group - Free Ride: 7
One of those songs that I'm sure I've always known, but never even once paid consciously attention to. I couldn't have told you the name of the song or the band. In fact, I couldn't even tell you a band named Edgar Winter Group existed. But now, being forced by this game to consciously take note of Free Ride and it's undeniable existence, now I do have to say that, yes, it is pretty cool, with one of those quick guitar tunes that manages to sound relaxed. Only in the seventies, but that is not a bad thing here.

Psychedelic rock, but made in India. This song just plain rocks and has a burning groove. Close to a 9. Great stuff!

Re: Biggest Fan - June 2020
I guess I need to start paying attention to this again since I had a three day streak. I'll explain how I discovered each of these songs.
Tomoya Ohtani – Boss: Solaris Phase 2 (10)
I discovered this song from a YouTube channel called Rabbidluigi which used this song for its intro, I don't know if he still uses it I haven't watched the channel in a long time. It was shocking that the game this song came from was Sonic '06.
Radiohead – Kid A (10)
Pretty obvious where I first heard this from. I highly recommend the live in Berlin version, which is better than the studio version.
R.E.M. - Belong (10)
I started getting into R.E.M.'s discography after finding out how big of an influence they were on Radiohead. What really stands out about this song to me is Michael Stipe's vocals.
Ministry - Thieves (3)
Did you know Stanley Kubrick's favorite band was Ministry, he even asked them to do a song for A.I. Anyway that how I found out this band existed. I don't think this song is in my top 1000 anymore, I didn't really like this song in the first place and only put it on my list as filler.

Re: Biggest Fan - June 2020
I saw Radiohead open for R.E.M. in 1995. It woke me up to Radiohead - they sounded incredible despite the large arena, and made me realize they were much much more than "Creep". This was well before OK Computer of course (that album rather solidified the perception).ordinaryperson wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 2:37 am I started getting into R.E.M.'s discography after finding out how big of an influence they were on Radiohead.

With The Who Roger Daltrey has sung some powerful ballads but in his solo work he has a tendency to become mawkish, like he does here. Not really awful, but it definitely doesn't move me, either.

One of these best Hymie's yet. A loose rhytm and blues song that clearly paved the way for rock. A lot of fun, not in the least thanks to Milburn's delivery.

Re: Biggest Fan - June 2020
The 1948 record is not the correct version that is on my list. It's his remake from 1956 that is titled "Chicken Shack."
Here's the one on my list.
