Hello to all, I wanted to first apologise for the delays in releasing the charts.
New job, new house, change of region, new schools for the kids, it's taking its toll !
So much so that I am considering relinquishing the responsibility for maintaining these two charts, as somebody may have more time than me at the moment.
If someone wants to take the challenge, please shout out. I can continue as and when but it will be difficult to guarantee any regularity at the moment.
Now that's said, let's start with this week's chart !
Welcome to instalment n°42 of the Classics Chart, where YOU get to nominate and vote for the best songs ever in a tournament to the death ! Only the cream of the crop will go through the grueling EIGHT weeks of charting.
132 votes last week (-7 votes)
At the top for its first ranking : Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer. Noteworthy : First Artist to have two number 1s.
6 new entries : Simon & Garfunkel / The Modern Lovers / The Human League / Enio Morricone / Flamin' Groovies & Cat Stevens
Iggy Pop / Tori Amos / The Only Ones & Happy Mondays are OUT !
Blondie's Sunday Girl (ranked 4272) hits the Hall of Fame this week
Enjoy voting for your favorite 10 songs... a difficult feat !
