The [/b] tags need some fixing, Rob.
65. The “5” Royales – Crazy, Crazy, Crazy - 7/10
R&B will never be my most favorite genre, although the '50's kind does have my preference. I do however consider Doo-Wop one of my guilty pleasure genres. Add some nice instruments, including a sax solo, with a tuba behind it (are those right? I'm terrible at my brass and woodwinds). Anyway, it does sounds really good. It does remember me that I should listen to more pre-'60 (or, mainly, pre-'56) music.

I'm not the biggest doo wop fan in the world and this wasn't an immediate like, but I like that the second half has more wild playing and a more spontaneous feel in general.

59. The Fixx – Red Skies: 3
Pretty bad.
60. Belle and Sebastian – The Act of the Apostle (I): 6
Belle & Sebastian have recorded some great songs, but too often they underwhelm. This doesn't underwhelm, but it doesn't thrill either.
61. Brownie McGhee & Sonny Terry – When It’s Love Time: 5
62. Albin de La Simone – Le grand amour: 8
Lovely song.
63. The Replacements – Hold My Life: 7.5
I had a vision of Paul Westerberg lead singing for Belle & Sebastian. It was great. Sorry you guys missed it.
64. Mall Grab – B.F.O.D.A.A.S.: 4.5
Not my genre, but still toe tappingly pleasant.
65. The “5” Royales – Crazy, Crazy, Crazy: 6.5
Best Hymie to date.

'You know you'll never go wrong' if you make me listen to some great '70s Rock. All instruments are great. Vocal harmonies are great. Guitar solo is great. Don't have anything to add other than this being great. I also do recognise some lyrics, while not recognising the whole song, could it've been in a commercial?

63. The Replacements – Hold My Life
I like The Replacements but this one is not a favourite. But the guitar playing is still as good as ever. 7/10
64. Mall Grab – B.F.O.D.A.A.S.
Not my thing 3/10
65. The “5” Royales – Crazy, Crazy, Crazy
As usual! 4.5/10
66. Sweet – The Six Teens
I didn't know this band, let alone the song, and I liked it. A rather nice mix of Bowie and Queen. 7/10

To add to what is already said: everyone who made a list for the All-Time Best Song Poll last Summer is included. The appearance here is completely random though, based on the whims of the website http://www.random.org.Brad wrote:Just curious - Is everyone included in this? Sweet are not so much one of the best bands of the seventies, but they are probably the most seventies of them all. There is a big load of cheese in their songs, but every time I hear something new of them I'm once again surprised how good it sounds. This is no exception. It's just a sweeping track, lots of fun and very well played and sung. A Don't Stop Believin' for it's decade perhaps, although sadly not as iconic.

This song just doesn't do it for me, the lyrics, the instrumentation (especially the viola pizzicato). It does pick up a bit in the end, and the trumpet solo is very cool. But on the whole I think it sounds a bit bland at first, and very noisy, almost metal, at the end. The different parts of the song don't work together well enough for my liking.

Flobots - Handlebars: 5
A song where a lot is tried, but everything feels underdeveloped. Slightly catchy, but it also seems somewhat childish. Mostly it is just too lightweight to stand out in the great world of music.

The Format - She Doesn't Get It: 3
I don't get it either. There is something in the singing that makes this a very unpleasant listen. It sounds somewhat glib. Nothing else here is particularly noteworthy, but with another singer it would probably be inoffensive, forgettable stuff. Now it is one of the worst songs I've heard here yet.

Circle Jerks – Red Tape : 5/10

I find it quite odd but I'm enjoying a lot more the songs on the Unacclaimed V game than the songs on this game. I mean odd because the concept is quite similar, the songs are personal choices that didn't receive too much acclaim neither by the critics nor by the other voters on the Forum. Maybe we chose carefully our nominations for Unacclaimed knowing that they were going to be scrutinized and voted, so we tried somehow to get the approval of the others while the songs on this game were selected randomly from our lists (that were not made originally looking from anyone's approval).

Real, hard punk! I like this a lot. I even listened to the album, today, which is basically this song times fifteen (in other words, the album lasts 15 minutes). And that is also a good one if you like your punk with maximum sound and fury.
Biggest Fan is more hit and miss though. The scale might influence this.

That wouldn't go for me; there is nothing random about my song list. These were genuinely my top 1000 songs at that moment. With Unacclaimed as with other similar nomination based games I tend to go for something unexpected, as if to say: "Yes, but have you considered this?"Honorio wrote: I find it quite odd but I'm enjoying a lot more the songs on the Unacclaimed V game than the songs on this game. Re: Biggest Fan - March 2019
There are quite a few songs in Unacclaimed V that were on multiple individual song lists, so they wouldn't qualify for this game. Despite being snubbed by critics, they already have some respect from some forumers. Also, if we took, say, only the top 3/4 unique picks off each individual song list, then I think this game would be different. The sheer randomness of Rob's method can throw up unexpected gems but also unexpected non-gems.Honorio wrote: I find it quite odd but I'm enjoying a lot more the songs on the Unacclaimed V game than the songs on this game. I like the "slow" part, the jazzy side of the song, minus the "agitated" part, overall, a nice little discovery! 6.5/10
68. The Format – She Doesn’t Get It
sounds like thousands of other songs, the chorus is nice... I'm missing a little something to get her out of the crowd but still nice 5/10
69. Circle Jerks – Red Tape
a song to pogotate in concert! too short for me to give him a rating!
70. Iron Maiden – Paschendale
clearly, hard rock is not a genre I master well... this song has a little side that I liked. The sweet little moment at the beginning and end adds a big plus to the song. 5/10

Re: Biggest Fan - March 2019
The grand finale of my favorite album of the hardcore era, Group Sex (incidentally, named one of the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die), featuring SoCal-Punk icons Keith Morris, fresh off his stint as singer for Black Flag (with whom he originally performed the song), and Greg Hetson (formerly of Red Cross, later of Bad Religion). For me, the real driver of this minute-long audial blast is Lucky Lehrer with his rapid-fire drum assault (for interested parties, here’s a live clip from the bands heyday, courtesy of The Decline of the Western Civilization: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ein68odkNPk).Rob wrote: 69. Biggest Fan: Brad (#509)
When I was a senior in high school, my good friend and I stuffed the ballot box for the prom theme with votes for this song (we must have thought that was radical); but alas, our efforts were ignored and we were forced to sway through Genesis’ “Follow You, Follow Me” instead. Yeesh.

I like the quiet parts, sounds like Jethro Tull, but the heavy metal parts are annoying.
