I don’t really need to relisten to this since I’ve watched this movie countless times, I think for me this is the all-time best soundtrack. Despite the film’s problematic casting of the Puerto Rican characters, the songs themselves are still incredibly resonant with iconic performances and meticulous compositions from Leonard Bernstein. You miss some of the great choreography when you just listen to the soundtrack but you still get the whole scope of story so I’d say it’s worth giving it the time.
