It seems my nomination of Lump's Late for the Flight is missing. I'll nominate it again, then, for next week.

My final contribution to this thread...
Not an actual nomination (though probably eligible) (but wouldn't win anyway unless the weezer brand somehow attached their name to it):

Ha, ha - hilarious, Brad! I'd seen this guy before, as my kids have shown me his videos, but that one really cracked me up. However, since you're not actually nominating it, I guess I won't second it.

BTW, I'm beginning to suspect that you really don't care for that Weezer cover. ;)

Mitski - "Two Slow Dancers"

My hype for Be The Cowboy's incoming release has reached a fever pitch with this track.

To be honest, most of my favorites rarely advance (unless it happens to be by a well-established artist), and I'm not a big fan of Weezer's version of Africa, either. (It's okay. But I'm a big fan of the original, and it's so similar that I don't feel it adds anything to it.) An example of a personal favorite from this year that was knocked out early was the hyperkinetic "Breadwinner" by Everything Everything. Long ago, I started looking more forward to listening to the new nominations each week (like that one!) than paying close attention to the results. My taste, in new music especially, isn't very similar to anyone's, I'm afraid ...

Yay ! I really thought Breadwinner had it in itself to go all the way to the hall of fame.
Glad I was not the only one to really appreciate that wonderful song :)

It'll definitely be high on my 2018 songs list. It's one of those rare "catchy" songs that actually grows on you instead of the other way around. (And a big thanks if you were the nominator!)
