AMF WC Classics Edition 09
Welcome to instalment n°8 of the Classics Chart, where YOU get to nominate and vote for the best songs ever in a tournament to the death !
Slight dip with 131 votes
The Beach Boys stay @ Number 1 this week
5 new entries from Vampire Weekend, Robyn, Elton John, The Kinks and the Faces
Serge Gainsbourg, Bjork and Interpol are OUT !
And we have our first CLASSICS Hoffers this week with The Smiths and Isaac Hayes. Well deserved and some will breathe a sigh of relief not to have to vote for these songs again
Enjoy voting for your favorite 10 songs... a difficult feat !
The AMF WC Classics Hall of Fame playlist :
Top Chart (number of weeks as n°1)
The Smiths - How Soon is Now (2)
Nina Simone - Feeling Good (2)
The Beach Boys - God Only Knows (4)
** Edit ** Sleater Kinney's entry had to be ousted, as I wasn't sure which song Stevie wanted to nominated and realised a bit late that Interpol had the same number of votes and weeks as Love and Bjork. They therefore go through

Because of the end of my 10.000 Songs series I want to nominate my favorite discovery that I got through the game:
Grateful Dead - A Touch of Grey
Grateful Dead - A Touch of Grey

Sorry, how are ties determined? Do old songs really get priority over new ones in that regard?

No, the more recent ones get priority if there is a tie.
Why, did you see something I missed ?

Darn, Are you stopping the 10000 ? shame, I was hoping to use your latest review in case there were a lack of nominations.Rob wrote:Because of the end of my 10.000 Songs series I want to nominate my favorite discovery that I got through the game:

Sorry, fixed. Bjork and Interpol get the kick, they had no votes for them.

Sleater-Kinney - Far Away
Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand - Sir Duke (1976)

Chico Buarque - Roda Viva
Don’t agree with Buarque’s political view, but his talent to express it is undeniable.

Yes, I wrote about it here.spiritualized wrote:Darn, Are you stopping the 10000 ? shame, I was hoping to use your latest review in case there were a lack of nominations.Rob wrote:Because of the end of my 10.000 Songs series I want to nominate my favorite discovery that I got through the game:

You could possibly do the same thing as I did for this series and grab a random number through random.org yourself. Or go through my existing list, perhaps starting at the bottom, where the less known songs reside.
