Does anyone else think it's just the tiniest bit bizarre that Swift has released a song that has the same title as a song by You Know Who? (Track 2 on MBDTF, in case you've forgotten.)

Yeah this whole album is kind of a reaction to Kanye. Tilted stage and all

Album is dropping on the 10th anniversary of Kanye's mom's death. I predict that there will be a sweet song about Donda. Would be too savage if there was not.

basically a CRJ song, but Carly is a bit more compelling.

Not bad though. I probably prefer it to the first two tracks that have come from this album.

Easily the best of her new singles.

Is this a bad year for diva pop? "Look What You Made Me Do," for instance, seemed like it was all spectacle and no song -- and then the big story ended up being that Cardi B knocked her off the #1 spot.

Deservedly so, I might add. Still not a huge trap fan, but it's a pretty badass song.

I heard a rumor that there may be a Taylor Swift x Future collaboration coming up.

Also,

It's...decent I suppose.

Overall these new songs of hers seem much less inspired than her stuff from 1989. I think all signs point towards Reputation ending up as a relative dud (commercially and critically) for Swift.

Of course. That's why I enjoy the catchy ones.

First song I heard when I turned on the radio this morning was "I Knew You Were Trouble." That's a good tune...

I don't envy pop divas. They have to come up with a ton of hits, every album, have big productions, and be the talk of the town. (Allegedly, Taylor's last 75 songs may or may not be about Kanye.) If they should lose focus, or otherwise have a misstep, that's like 4 or 5 hits they were supposed to have that didn't happen. Though Taylor, at least at the moment, can have a hit even with dud songs, I bet.

My brother turned out to be a closet Katy Perry hardcore fan, but he didn't recommend the new one. And then I checked Miley Cyrus's new songs just now and um...something happened. I like the Cardi B song in general, and also in comparison with a lot of its competition.

Yeah, 100% agreed. The last catchy Taylor Swift song I heard, "New Romantics", I really enjoyed. What's your point?

I agree that the melody is surprisingly weak for her. I'm not of fan of such sparse, boring instrumentation either, but I realize that's popular in pop right now.
