You already voted for it in 2007, and it is currently running 7th and sure to make the cut.

Also very pleased to see you voted for "Laulu laakson kukista", that's the sort of left field choice that I would love to see in the decade poll.

Great to see this make an appearance. It will be high on my list, probably second after Mykonos by Fleet Foxes. It's a top 100 of all time song for me, but I fear it is too overlooked to make the main list. I really recommend everyone to give it a spin if you like haunting, but romantic folk songs.

Yes, you rank all the songs and albums you know and the other ones get the same points at those in the average position (considering that statistically you would like them more than half the songs you know, and less than the other half). So not voting for a song gives it more points than putting it at the bottom of your lists (and most likely more points than songs you actually enjoy).
So at least when All That You Can't Leave Behind or Black Holes and Revelations took spots on the final least from way better albums, I can be soothed by knowing I'll put them at the tail end of my list.

Gotcha. There are a handful of songs set for the final that I've never heard before, so either I'll be pleasantly surprised or put them at the bottom. (And while I'm not sure if I'll rank the albums, I think Beautiful Day will take at least a high-middle position on my song list).

Thanks, I removed it and shifted everything up. (It was my #16 for 2007 and #11 here, so I kind of wish this wasn't true.)

After the 2009 poll we vote in the decade polls by ranking the 150 selected albums and songs. These being the 10 x 10 albums/songs that were selected in our year polls plus the 50 best placed wildcards. We used to just choose 15 albums/songs from each year, but this was a less good system because,

a) Some albums/songs from 'good' years were missing out.
b) Where there was confusion about date of eligibility, albums/songs were missing out even though they had enough support overall. You would be surprised how many songs get voted in different years, even in a relatively well documented decade like the 2000s. I often don't notice at first, but when I consolidate the decade results into my wildcard spreadsheet, I make sure that multi-year votes are consolidated (if they are from different people - and you would also be surprised how many people vote for the same song in different years), so no song/album that is popular overall gets short changed.

An efficient system! Is it ok if I don't rank the albums if I don't have time to get to all of them?

e.g. Robyn - Robyn (2005) was in the last album wildcard position after our 2006 poll, Moonbeam (who didn't vote at all in our 2005 poll) gave it 4 points in our 2007 poll, so now it is pretty sure to be in the decade poll. The 2007 release did have a couple of extra tracks, but I decided it was fairer to take Moonbeam's vote into account than not.

Yet another song I mistook for another year! :angry-banghead: This time it was "Decode" by Paramore. It's my new #1, move everything else down.

I second this recommendation, although it won't quite make my top 15.

A-Punk is 2007? Discogs, Google and Wikipedia have 2008. The only place I see with AM is 2007, and I didn't realize that until now. It would have made my top 10.

A-Punk, Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa and Oxford Comma all originally appeared on a self released EP which was released in 2007.
