Won't Get Fooled Again
Baba O'Riley

(the best bookends in music history)

Bargain
My Wife
Love Ain't For Keeping
Behind Blue Eyes
Going Mobile
Song is Over
Getting in Tune

Over fifty years of listening to music, Who's Next is probably the album I would have called my number one most often, although as an old man, its flaws (minor, like the repetitive use of quiet-loud-quiet structure through the middle of the album) drop it just out of the first tier for now.

Also, Honorio, track 7 is "Song is Over", not "The Song is Over". I could argue that it is a very subtle distinction, but Daltrey clearly says "The song is over" in the first verse and "this song is over" in the last. I think Townshend meant to omit "The"; that like his love, all song is over, then he reminds himself of all the power of song, and in the end it is only this song that has ended, while song in general remains.

Regardless, I'm going with the record jacket.

OK, DocBrown, I edited the song list removing the "The", even if in my copy (the 1995 reissue CD with bonus tracks) the song is credited as "The Song Is Over." It seems that the original vinyl release (according not only to you but also to Rateyourmusic) credit it as "Song Is Over."

Favorite Who album by a wide margin.
Cocteau Twins – Heaven or Las Vegas. 4 stars/5.
This band is a miracle. Like a cross between the Cranberries at their least petulant and Gertrude Stein's Tender Buttons. Key track: It's track #10. I can't pronounce it.
