R.I.P. Holger Czukay (1938-2017)

Post by Pierre »

One of the geniuses behind the greatest krautrock band ever (minus Kraftwerk, I guess), Holger Czukay, was discovered dead in his apartment on Tuesday September 5. Sad news. Since he's still considered obscure despite his influence, it hasn't been talked about much in the press.

Czukay also attracted attention among specialized critics for his experimental solo work, especially the Canaxis (early work with Rolf Dammers recorded before Can) and Movies albums.

What a shame.
