Besides my three nominations there are two albums here I didn't like all that much before, but at least became to appreciate a bit more.

4. Sinead O'Connor - The Lion and the Cobra vs. 7. The 13th Floor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds
More close listening to The Psycedelic Sounds revealed more musical depth than I at first got out of it. Some songs are still too murky for me, but overall it's an enjoyable ride. Still, the emotional power of Sinead O'Connor is out its reach.

2. Santigold - Santogold vs. 5. Angelo Badalamenti - Soundtrack from Twin Peaks
Cool, moody soundtrack versus exuberant pop. Usually the former should win by a margin, but perhaps no pop gets to me like Santigold on Santogold.

1. Saint Etienne - So Tough vs. 6. Game Theory - Lolita Nation
Lolita Nation is a great album to dive into, only for it to reveal more and more. I can understand why some call it a lost classic. Still, So Tough is getting lost too (it will probably fall off the Top 3000 next update!), while it deserves a top 100 spot for me, easily.

8. Rodriguez - Coming from Reality vs. 3. Carl Perkins - The Dance Album of Carl Perkins
I called Coming from Reality too sour in the first round. Maybe it was an overreaction to A Most Disgusting Song (which I still hate), as most stuff here is rather solid, if somewhat predictable for a singer/ songwriter album of the time. It's far from the quality of Cold Fact, but a few songs are very good, like the opening track.
Then again, we're talking lost classics here and where I can understand Coming from Reality getting the short rift, The Dance Album of Carl Perkins should have been a fifties standard.

Still a low turnout by the way. I hope people find time to vote and of course to listen!

My sole remaining nomination makes it to another round! Just hope it isn't up against Joanna Newsom or I'm boned.
