It has some very enjoyable songs including:

Live to Tell (AM all time rank=1475)
Papa Don't Preach (1587)
Open Your Heart (2934)
Where's the Party (4322)
La Isla Bonita (BU)
True Blue (BU)
Jimmy Jimmy
Love Makes the World Go Round

On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of White Heat.

Which of the following do we expect to drop in the next 5?

David Bowie - Hunky Dory (813, 66, 60) - big improvement, expected to drop by 35
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (202, 55, 32) - could happen
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced? (92, 14, 29) could happen
Kanye West - MBDTF (NR, 73, 69) - big improvement for an album that hasn't worked for me yet, but could drop by 35
Love - Forever Changes (708, 50, 42) - nod to Harold for predicting this to drop soon
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On (161, 7, 28) - wouldn't surprise me
Michael Jackson - Thriller (160, 25, 33) - could happen
Pixies - Doolittle (NR, 42, 23) - possible
Portishead - Dummy (1030, 65, 45) - expected to drop by 35
Prince - Purple Rain (268, 44, 22) - not likely
R.E.M. - Automatic For the People (580, 43, 19) - would be a bit of a surprise
Radiohead - In Rainbows (625, 89, 73) - Radiohead is improving tremendously in this poll, but could drop b4 35
Radiohead - The Bends (606, 88, 44) - probably higher given Radiohead's performance in this year's poll so far
Radiohead - Kid A (824, 37, 26) - not likely to drop b4 35
Sufjan Stevens - Illinoise (99, 90, 21) - not likely
The Beatles - Rubber Soul (175, 29, 36) - could drop b4 35
The Strokes - Is This It (864, 40, 37) - wouldn't surprise me
The Who - (2, 35, 20) - I'd be disappointed and a bit surprised
Stevie Wonder - Songs In the Key Of Live (64, 46, 55) - seems to have substantially improved its placement from the last poll
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions (22, 47, 41) - could happen
U2 - Joshua Tree (111, 39, 31) - could happen

So, Let It Bleed is gonna be the highest-ranked Stone album? I'll admit, I didn't see that coming.

I took Henry's albums and made probable, possible, doubtful predictions. (I forced myself to make 5 "probables," which are my predictions for the next 5 out.)

Hurray for both of Stevie Wonder's big ones breaking into the top 35! Just as surprised as everyone about 4 Radiohead albums, and of course Let It Bleed being the top Stones pick, though it is my personal fave (the only Stones album I voted for).

I suck at this prediction game, I can't ever get more than 2 right, but here goes...
Bends
Rainbows
Key of Life
Rubber Soul
Joshua Tree

Beatles albums from 1965-1969 in the top 30: 5
Any album made from 1990-2017 in the top 30: 6

I wonder if/when newer music will begin to have more proportional placement on the top of the list. In particular I find the 1990s placing only two albums in the top 30 to be way too low given all of the great music made across a variety of styles during the decade.

I've heard 17 of the top 20. It seems more favorable to me than usual:

5 stars: 3
4.5 stars: 2
4 stars: 3
3.5 stars: 3
3 stars: 0
2.5 stars: 1
2 stars: 3
1.5 stars: 1
1 stars: 1
0.5 stars: 0

Holding out hopes for a top 10 finish for Purple Rain, but I'm guessing it's in the next batch of 5.

Doubling down on this after seeing Bad go from #308 to #164. Hell, top 10 seems possible (albeit an outside shot).
The first half of my prediction was right. I still think it will come close to the top 10.

Also, with the drop these Dylan albums have received, I wouldn't be surprised of Highway 61 Revisited fell in the next 5.

Glad to see LZIV and Dark Side hit the Top 20. Where they belong!

If I had to guess, I say OK Computer wins and VU still in Top 5 but around #3. #2 goes to Purple Rain or Ziggy due to recent deaths.

4 of the Beatles' "Big Five" will be in the Top 10. Revolver the highest among them.

Would love to see London Calling and Thriller in the Top 10, but Top 15 seems more realistic for both of them.

Your predictions seem solid to me. Anything that moves VU down is welcome to me. I would prefer to see the Beatles or Beach Boys reappear in the top two, but would bet against that happening just yet.

I still struggle with enjoying many of the songs in London Calling and therefore would prefer to see it drop before we get to the top ten.

The top 15, with their 2014 rank:

1960s:

Bob Dylan- Highway 61 Revisited (1965) #12
The Beatles- Revolver (1966) #7
The Beach Boys- Pet Sounds (1966) #3
The Beatles- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) #8
The Velvet Underground- The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967) #1
The Beatles- The Beatles ("The White Album") (1968) #11
The Beatles- Abbey Road (1969) #9

1970s:

David Bowie- The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars (1972) #5
Pink Floyd- The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) #14
Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run (1975) #16
The Clash- London Calling (1979) #4

1990s:

Nirvana- Nevermind (1991) #19
Radiohead- OK Computer (1997) #2

2000s:

Radiohead- Kid A (2000) #26
Arcade Fire- Funeral (2004) #6

If I had to guess which five will fail to make the top 10, I would go with Highway 61 (given the fall of all Dylan's albums :( ), one of the four Beatles albums (hopefully The White Album, but it could definitely be Abbey Road), Born to Run, The Dark Side of the Moon, and maybe London Calling? That would be a hell of a drop from last time, but seeing how punk has done as a whole....

I was so close to posting my prediction of the top 20, but ultimately decided I didn't know anything and didn't do it... and then it turned out I had predicted the placement of Doolittle, Innervisions, and Led Zeppelin IV exactly right!

So, my prediction of the top 15, which I will now surely get completely wrong:
15.Born to Run
14.Highway 61 Revisited
13.The Dark Side of the Moon
12.London Calling
11.The White Album
10.Nevermind
9. Kid A
8. Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
7. Abbey Road
6. The Velvet Underground & Nico
5. Pet Sounds
4. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
3. Funeral
2. Revolver
1. OK Computer

"Jimmy Jimmy" and "Love Makes the World Go Round" are duds, so the album ends with a big thud, IMO. I'm not big on "True Blue", either. I would have far preferred those songs to be replaced by "Causin' a Commotion", "Who's That Girl" and "The Look of Love".

Then again, I'm not big on 3 of the songs on Like a Virgin. I would have far preferred "Shoo-Bee-Doo", "Pretender", and "Stay" to be replaced by "Into the Groove", "Crazy for You", and "Gambler".

Only got 2 of 5...this I why I don't do these things. Pink Floyd in the top 10 is a pleasant surprise. I don't think it will end up being the top album of the 70's, but these results have been unexpected, so who the hell knows?

10. The Dark Side of the Moon (estimated total number of voters=51, certainly not Moonbeam)
9. Nevermind (57, including myself)
8. The White Album (54)
7. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (55)
6. Abbey Road (54)
5. Revolver (55)
4. The Velvet Underground & Nico (53, not me)
3. Ziggy Stardust (65)
2. OK Computer (68)
1. Pet Sounds (62)

If I had to bet, I'd place OK Computer and VU higher, but this is my somewhat hopeful prediction.

I'm a fan of both "Into the Groove" and "Crazy For You." Who's that Girl doesn't work particularly well for me, but it's better than Jimmy Jimmy and Love Makes the World Go Round in my opinion.

I'm not even familiar with the other songs you mention. Which one of those do you recommend I listen to first?

10) Dark Side
9) White Album
8) Abbey Road
7) Sgt. Pepper
6) Nevermind
5) Revolver
4) Pet Sounds
3) Velvet Underground and Nico
2) Ziggy Stardust
1) OK Computer

It's possible OK Computer doesn't win, but I think the younger, newer members will skew the vote in that direction. Esp. considering how Kid A won the 2000s. I heard some people say Nevermind has an outside chance of winning, but I don't see it. Top 5, maybe, but not #1. An older album will swipe it. Revolver is perhaps the best chance for a Beatles album in the Top 3. As beloved as the band is, it is surprising how they have always come up just short in the albums poll, despite winning the songs and artists more than once. Though I think it will be OK Computer and an older album at #2.

I'll predict no album gets more than 60 votes.

The highest number of votes will probably go to one of the Beatles' albums...? Or possibly OK Computer...

Well, "Gambler" is one of my 5 favorite Madonna songs, but I think it is unlikely to be to your taste. "The Look of Love" is a gorgeous ballad, so maybe try that one.

I'm very happy to see my #2 album, Abbey Road, in the top 5!

More realistic prediction for top five:

1) OK Computer
2) VU
3) Ziggy
4) Abbey Road
5) Revolver

I dislike 4 of the top 10 (and probably would dislike the album I haven't heard), but I've got 2 albums I love left in the top 5.

Great to see Abbey Road exceed expectations. If it places in the top 2, I would be very surprised and attribute the change to our wonderful newcomers.

What's the highest album in the current AM Top 100 to not enter the top 500?

None. "Screamadelica" was the AM Top 100 album lowest ranked, at #353.

I'm surprised you haven't heard one of the albums in the top 10. Which one? :o

I was wondering the same thing...I figure it's one of the four Beatles albums. I'd guess the White Album, because of its length + Moonbeam's disdain for the Beatles.

I don't think I've ever met a Beatle hater before, but good for you to march to the beat of your own drummer! I'm surprised you're not a little interested just because of its sheer acclaim, but admittedly I do find it overrated because of its uneven quality even if it does contain many great songs.
