Very good week. When The Beatles rank 7th of the week you know the company is good. I really like everything here, even an album I didn't in the first round.

7. The Beatles - Help! vs. 6. Julia Holter - Loud City Song
Help! still has quite a lot of highlights, but I still feel that it is rather run-of-the-mill for these guys. It's not their weakest album (though second after Let It Be), but it is perhaps the least distinct one. Loud City Song stands out more and not just in Holters career.

4. Wishbone Ash - Argus vs. 2. Tom Waits - Small Change
Argus is grower and more powerful than I remembered, but few things can beat a night at the bar with Tom Waits.

Sorry Fennesz, you fought bravely, but against Morricone you might as well call the match rigged.

3. Barbara - Barbara chante Barbara vs. 5. Mademoiselle K - Hungry Dirty Baby
I disliked Hungry Dirty Baby a lot the first round, even calling it one of the weakest albums in the whole game. I hardly know why now. There is more to it than I noticed at first and the whole thing is damn catchy. There is also something affecting about how she first goes through some close to perverted sex songs and then suddenly sings about blushing. I might have voted for her, but the chilling melancholy of Barbara just happens to be stronger.
