Just out of curiosity, why would anyone vote to do a tournament based on year for the next one? It seems we already do a lot of things based on year around here, and not that much on genre.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't think "Seed" is that good. I hope it doesn't get #1.

I'd be surprised if The Seed took the whole tournament. Song-wise, it might wind up going to either The Message or Paper Planes (but really, who can say?).

Also, putting a picture of Run-DMC when Walk This Way didn't make it to this round...rubbing a little salt in that wound, eh?

It's popular with me. I can't stand the song. I always skip it when I play that album.

Albums
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (My new "as painful as it gets to choose" champion.)
Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City (This album just keeps growing on me - I find the story and flow really captivating.)

Songs
M.I.A. - Paper Planes (Another virtual coin flip.)
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five - The Message (My personal all-time favorite rap song - had a huge impact on me as a kid and foreshadowed for me just how important the genre would become.)
The Roots - The Seed (2.0) (The Roots are always great, but Cody takes this one to another level for me.)
Eric B & Rakim - Paid in Full (7 Minutes of Madness) (I love all eras, but I'll always have a soft spot for the old-school rappers.)
