I can't speak for other mediums, but a film that immediately popped into my head was 25th Hour. As cultural documents detailing NYC in the aftermath of 9/11, I don't think you could find better.

Great album!

I recommend The Chameleons' "Script of the Bridge". No post-punk album from the early '80s sounds more Interpol than that IMO. A criminally underrated album by the critics.

For fans of Turn on the Bright Lights, I'd recommend Darren Aronofsky's Pi or James Ward Byrkit's Coherence.

If my favorite album were Joni Mitchell's Blue, what would people recommend?

I love 25th Hour. I really fight with myself sometimes into thinking it's the best Spike Lee movie but I still can't put it above Do The Right Thing but 25th is an A+ movie.

I recommend the movie, 'The Mist"

Book: Choke or Fight Club by Chuck Pahlianuk or a Graphic Novel like Watchmen or Killing Joke by Alan Moore
Movie: Scream, Fight Club, Watchmen, The Crow, 24 Hour Party People, Batman Begins movie trilogy...
TV show: Mr Robot, True Detective, Fargo
Video Game: A Batman related one...
