Music of the Year 1992: Round 3, Week 8

Post by ordinaryperson »

Hello,
Since BleuPanda decided to pass on the "year" project, I have taken it over. I will follow the same rules and use the same bracket that has already been created. Simply, just vote for which album or song you like the most in each match up. The deadline for voting is Saturday, 18 March at 7:00 PM EST.

Albums
Sonic Youth - Dirty vs. Arrested Development - 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days

Surprised House of Pain beat out Dr. Dre. That's what you get for not being on Spotify, I guess.

But "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang" is on YouTube.

And, really, no one should be voting if they haven't heard both songs.

Nah, I more meant it as a general diss. I'd be surprised if people hadn't heard it somehow by this point.

It could be sample clearance issue like it is with De La Soul's first four albums.

I think he's holding back on purpose, given how tight he is with Apple. Then again, I haven't checked to see if The Chronic is on Apple Music.

Oh, it is exclusively on Apple Music. I just don't have that streaming service and I just quickly assumed it was sample clearance issues.

Is Apple Music any good?

Tried it briefly, as with Tidal. It's OK. Only reason to stay subscribed is for Dre and the upcoming Carpool Karaoke series. Most of it usually gets to Spotify eventually, and I much prefer it.
I'd just say buy the albums you can't get on Spotify. Most of them are great. Reasonable Doubt, The Chronic, 3 Feet High and Rising...most of them are worth owning.
