AMF Weekly Chart 17.9
Welcome to a instalment n° 9 of the Acclaimed Music Forum Chart !
Brilliant exchanges on last week's thread and huge support for some of the nominees. Thank you also for a record number of votes (116 !) - this makes it all the more interesting
Noteworthy :
Sampha returns to the top spot, only because the xx relinquishes it by virtue of an entry to the Hall of Fame !
2 New Entries, rather low in the chart : The Weeknd and Jens Lekman
8 secondments on this week's nominees - let's see if the general public agrees.
Kicked out : Ryan Adams (1 week)
Please note that I added a second nomination from myself (MALKA), we had run out of nominees !
Without further ado, here is your chart
The Chart :
Hall of Fame 2017

Re: AMF Weekly Chart 17.9
Can we nominate another song by an artist already in the poll? Because unless I find something else of note (in which case you can disqualify this, if you haven't already), I'm going with Lorde - Liability.

Yes you can - but there won't be more than two songs per artist at any given time in the chart.
So, you're allright !

Re: AMF Weekly Chart 17.9
Fortunately, Lorde only has two eligible songs out right now, so I'm good until June when the rest of the album drops. I've got good stuff for next week too.spiritualized wrote:Yes you can - but there won't be more than two songs per artist at any given time in the chart.

Is this a new rule? I remember when Grimes had three songs at one point in the charts.spiritualized wrote:Yes you can - but there won't be more than two songs per artist at any given time in the chart.

Yes, instigated when I took over. Had a vote on it, most forumers felt that 2 was about rightbabydoll wrote:Is this a new rule? How appropriate would it be to nominate Prince's Moonbeam Levels considering it was finally officially released in November?

I had actually thought of that. Consider this a seconded.TimmyWing wrote:How appropriate would it be to nominate Prince's Moonbeam Levels considering it was finally officially released in November?

Re: AMF Weekly Chart 17.9
Okay, I just looked back at the previous charts - this needs its own subforum like the Rank the Tracks - and I don't think Sampha's "What Shouldn't I Be?" has been on the charts. I'd like to nominate it. For me, it's the highlight of a really great album.
I also don't get the praise for Lorde's "Green Light". "Liability" is much, much better.

They're both great. I imagine they'll both be on the chart next week.babydoll wrote:Okay, I just looked back at the previous charts - this needs its own subforum like the Rank the Tracks - and I don't think Sampha's "What Shouldn't I Be?" has been on the charts. I agree. Though they're both quite generic.babydoll wrote:I also don't get the praise for Lorde's "Green Light". "Liability" is much, much better.

I just want to say that I officially retract this statement. "Green Light" is indeed a very good song.babydoll wrote:I also don't get the praise for Lorde's "Green Light". "Liability" is much, much better.
