AMF Weekly Chart 17.8

Post by spiritualized »

Welcome to a new instalment of the Acclaimed Music Forum Chart !

Thank you for your involvement in the best way to discover new music on the net. 89 votes last week, on a downer...Some nominations didn't make it, the Mcch taking most of the available spots (Sorry Steviefan :( )

Noteworthy :

:scared-shocked: The xx return to the top spot !
:scared-shocked: Lana Del Rey's new entry storms to second place, Ryan Adams and La Femme joining the fray, albeit at a lower level
:scared-shocked: Frank Ocean's Ivy enters the Hall of Fame 2017
:scared-shocked: Kicked out : Leonard Cohen (7 weeks) London Grammar (3 weeks)

Please note that I didn't add another Ryan Adams song to the chart as a Mcch entry, as we already have one with Anything I Say To You Now

Without further ado, here is your chart

Good set-up so far. My vote this week is for either
Lorde - Green Light
The Mountain Goats - Andrew Eldritch is Moving Back to Leeds
Or both. Whichever qualifies.

Radical Face - Moonn - please please please let it become a favorite in the chart. AWESOME song : it has whiffs of Radiohead in the music - or maybe not. It's just brilliant. Best song of 2017 so far by a mile.

Yes Romain !

Moonn is the middle part of the EP. BTW, I found the video particularly good, but then I get silly when I really like a song (even comparing it to Radiohead...meh !). I always wish to share my enthusiasm and find that sadly not many people do :( Maybe I should seek "Not so acclaimed music" forums ! :music-listening:

You can find it on Spotify
Thank you :)

OK Husky voice, check.
Soaring ending and chorus, check
My wife loves it, check

You get a thirded :) Although your nom, being one of the first would have made it. But put it this way, it bodes very well for Lorde when she is in the chart :)

Just discovering this band (this is just incredible how much music remains unknown to me....and I consider myself someone "in the know" for the sheer amount of music I listen to. I know this is pretentious, but I have rarely (present company excluded) met someone who listens to so much music)

And it's really really good. so I second your song :)

Whoa! Whoa! Waitaminute now. Make that a world where two men kinda like Foxygen. Saw them a couple years ago at a winery in Sonoma, CA. For a lo-fi psychedelic retro band trying to find its niche they're not bad. 'We are the 21st Century Ambasasadors' was one of my favorite albums back then too!

Yes! There are more of us out there! I'd even stick my neck out for We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors as one of the best albums of 2013, if it weren't for Night Time, My Time or Modern Vampires of the City or Same Trailer, Different Park...
