AMF Weekly Chart 17.4

Post by spiritualized »

Welcome yet again to the fresh, new Weekly Chart 17.4 where the best songs are, along with your delightful nominations.
This week, no change for the top spot as The xx rules the 20-strong chart.
We also say goodbye to A Tribe Called Quest's Space Program, the second song from the act to make up the Hall of Fame this year.

Excellent performance from Temples and Grandaddy's new songs, climbing near the top in their first week.
We will have too many nominations this week, as OtisRedding 2017 MCCH is released. I have opted to NOT include the acts who already have had a chance to be featured in the chart (Run the Jewels / The xx / Rose Elinor Dougall) - this therefore leaves only three spots for nominations this week. Don't hesitate to renominate next week if you really feel strongly about your faves.

NEW FEATURE : Matchup voting - following Sweepstakes Ron's idea of using a matchup website (see his thread), I will test, with our voters, the idea of a different kind of voting - as it allows more nominations, all of week 3's nominations have been included as part of this test. The downside is that you won't be able to listen to a playlist and decide at the end. You will need to make a decision when the songs are pitted against each other.

Please use this voting alternative in parallel to the "normal" vote - I'll run it for a few weeks to see if we can obtain meaningful results.
I have added a new playlist with the noms to make it easier

Here is the link you need to be able to vote "alternatively" Click Me

Seconded as I nominated last week. Had been happy to see a track on this week from the MCCH

Leaving the Table is in its fourth week on the chart, not third.

Discovered this EP too late to put in my EOY list but feel like it should be shared beyond that thread:

spiritualized, how come you're not alphabetizing the charts like Setherex used to? It's easier on my eyes, tbh.

As he said when took over, because it's not now in the order of a chart. Top 10 or so from last week, then order of entries in MCCH, then multiple nominations, then order of nominations I think.

I think this came out just over 6 months ago but I'm not sure if anyone else heard it. It briefly placed in the top 100 on critics lists after being ranked 1st and 2nd on a couple of obscure foreign lists, but I think I was the only person who voted for it in the 2016 poll. One of my favorite songs of the year.

Quick reminder to get your votes in both on the official chart and the alt-chart... it's getting interesting with quite a number of votes. In all honesty, I made about 80 choices before it started to get redundant, but it's really quick too. Give it a go!

What is the exact criteria for nominating a song? How recent does it have to be?

Hiya, six months old at most, unless it is "revived" by a new video or recent exposure
