Re: Final Installment of AM Showdown Series
Thanks, letmeintomyzone, for running this.
Well, Nevermind is my all-time favorite, so this one is not too difficult.
Blonde on Blonde is in my top ten, and a couple other albums here are knocking on the top ten.
The other entries, save one, are in my top 100 -- What's Going On, I think of as a three-song album and not really on this level.

"Only" two albums I give five stars in this group, Revolver and Highway 61. The Beatles got my vote.

Anyone wanna break a tie?
Or I guess by the usual rules, the voting is over and Revolver AND Velvet Underground & Nico have won.

I feel bad for London Calling though. Deserves better.

I also said London Calling. One of my all-time favorites. 'Course, the interesting thing about this whole top 100 is that if someone told me that these were the 100 best albums ever made, ever, subjectively, I wouldn't really argue.Pierre wrote:Re-done

Re: Final Installment of AM Showdown Series
Any best-of list with two R.E.M. albums, London Calling, and The Queen is Dead strikes me as completely reasonable.

Re: Final Installment of AM Showdown Series
Also: given the number of alt-rock/classic rock/hard rock lists I posted with it featured, I can't help but wonder if Nevermind is going to take the #3 spot from Velvet Underground.

This has been fun. One last showdown with the ten winners?

Just hoping it doesn't turn into a boring OK Computer vs. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy thing.andyd1010 wrote:This has been fun. One last showdown with the ten winners?

Well I think my avatar gives away who I'm voting for, so I won't be contributing to that at least.Pierre wrote:Just hoping it doesn't turn into a boring OK Computer vs. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy thing.andyd1010 wrote:This has been fun. One last showdown with the ten winners?
