As a reminder, the bracket was divided into four sections: songs ranked 1001-2000, 2001-3500, 3501-6000, and then a variety of 'bubblers.' So while this isn't the finals, it is for the individual sections.

Finally voting against LCD Soundsystem...I promise I'm not a total fanboy. The first match feels really weak to me. I guess Van Morrison just never really clicks with me as much as he does others, so it getting this far makes sense, but Velouria feels especially misplaced. There are still half a dozen other songs by the Pixies I prefer, and I'm wondering how it will do in our next songs list (as I'm expecting most of these songs to get boosts there). I'm hoping some of the songs from the first division that didn't make it this far at least got more fans than what they started with (my goal in hosting this was to convince a few more people to fall in love with Spanish Sahara). Here's Where the Story Ends is my second favorite of its division after my own nomination, and 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong is my favorite for its division, so those two matches are good (I think The Windmills of Your Mind gets beaten by Linus and Lucy and Lazy Eye, but still my number 3). To compare, Velouria would only be my 11th favorite for the first division, so I really don't connect with the results there (though note I still prefer it to all of the songs from the last division).

Either way, this has been a fun journey, and I hope to make this a regular tournament between each site update (probably after Unacclaimed finishes each time).

Happy "Velouria" is doing so well. Always thought it was an underrated Pixies song...my 2nd favorite behind "Where Is My Mind?" 3rd section is my least favorite now that Emmylou lost.

I'd never touched Bossanova, so Velouria was a fun discovery. Sweet Thing is one of the best songs on one of my favorite albums of all-time, so the result was a foregone conclusion.

This Sundays track was, for me and for I'm guessing a large portion of us, the real standout discovery of the tournament. The Mercury Rev track is amazing, but I can't quite get behind the singer's voice as much as I can the opponent's.
