For the past few years I have been working on a project in my spare time where I have 4 spreadsheets for every year from 1954-2014 to determine the best of the best song wise based off of commercial success, critical acclaim, longevity and personal preference... The first year that I have finalized is 1979(no reason). There are a total of 542 songs that made it but I am just sharing the top 40 songs to give a feel of what I am trying to accomplish. I do not really plan on doing anything with these, just looking for some feedback.

Bruno... Yeah, I decided to add another element to each yearly spreadsheets... AM Album rank, RYM Album Rank, US Album Chart, UK Album Chart and 1 Album Chart from any non-UK/US country.
For each year now 1954-2014 there are a total of 24 categories (year-end internet charts / Commercial charts / Year-end & Decade end critics lists) plus a 25th which is my own personal ranking from 0.25-1.00.
I am about 40% of the way through updating each spreadsheet in what little free time I have. Hoping to get these updated by the end of 2017 if possible and then start adding up the totals and ranking them.
Since it is something I am doing for fun and curiosity of finding a formula for ranking songs based off things like acclaim, popularity, longevity and my own personal tastes I would like to share each years results on the Forum when finished. Especially since I have been a part of this community for over 10 years. Hoping to have another update in a few months.
