I didn't realize that. That's pretty disappointing.

Any predictions as to what might be added/removed?

I think that Bowie's The Next Day will most likely be removed and replaced with Blackstar.

I'm kind of nervous that they might delete either The Bends or In Rainbows to make room for A Moon Shaped Pool.

Oh, and is it just me or does anyone else find it very odd that The Velvet Underground's Loaded and Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy are not included the top 1001 list? Including these albums would complete the perfect streaks of albums from their respective artists.

Loaded especially to me, is a top 200ish album of all time. The idea of either of those not making a top 1001 is a little weird.

That's it? Ten new albums? Which ones were dropped to make room? (I assume The Next Day is one of them; I also have to assume that White Denim album is gone - that was one of the biggest head-scratchers in recent editions.)

Copying this post to a thread I started for the book in the Critics' Lists forum.

I will post the removals once I get a look at the book again in a week or two. And I know for sure that The Next Day is not one of them and neither is the White Denim album. The only removal I can remember is 21 by Adele.

The post-2000 entries in this book have always been a bizarre, willfully contrarian mix. At least good kid, m.A.A.D city is included (unless it's one of the ones that's been dropped, which I doubt).

Yes, it is very sad that To Pimp a Butterfly didn't make it.
