Can We know The Rank of Artist's Solo+Group Performance?

Post by Sunwoo1213 »

For example, Lou Reed is Ranked 48th in his solo career, and VU is All time 15th.

If We count VU's career as Lou Reed's, how will he Ranked in all time Rank?

I was always Curious.. is there any way to know?

I think someone did the exercice with Lou Reed, Lennon, McCartney, Damon Albarn, New Order/Joy Division and a few others a long time ago... but can't find it unfortunately

If I recall correctly, the New Division/Joy Order band managed to crack the top 20 artists.

What is the current formula for top artists? I remember seeing it before. It would be possible (albeit, time consuming) to figure out the most acclaimed individuals in music. Since the Beatles are #1, wouldn't that mean that the top 4 slots would automatically be the individual members of the Beatles? Dave Grohl would probably have a pretty high position on the list as well.

If you list the artists you would like to see combined I can calculate the new rank.
