Hi everyone,

Wanted to share a little project I've been working on and potentially receive some feedback on it if people like it or hate it. I've taken the top albums of the 2016 year from the RYM charts and composed them all into 11 lists that references each album by genre. I've also taken along the format that OtisRedding uses for his MegaCritic Charts and included the top-rated songs for each album alongside.

The genres listed are: Rock, Pop, Jazz, Folk, Country, Hip Hop, R&B, Electronic, Experimental, Comedy, Metal

Please let me know what you guys think of it, and if you find this useful or too inaccessible. My idea is to have a similar list of 500 albums going by the end of the year, possibly in a more user-friendly Excel format.

I like the idea, perused your list, quite an interesting concept better sorted than the actual unsorted list, I believe.
In passing, I cannot help but smirk when I see the metal "genres"... Folk Metal ??? Technical Thrash Metal ??? Anyone ?

F*** me ! I was like 18 when I heard that name last ! Goth all the way

I like it. it draws your attention to albums that are maybe overlooked in the long RYM and Megacritic charts.

Also it is useful to sort by genre as I'm not interested in "metal" and only mildly in "experimental".

"Regional" on the contrary draws my attention to the only album that is under that category. I will check this out, and I hadn't noticed this album in the megacritic chart nor on RYM.

Updated. The Chart is more adjusted at this point to my own personal preferences, but I hope its usefulness still applies to those who want to dine on 2016's plentiful material.
