Oh. I took the title to mean every album that came out sfter 2000. Although I suppose your definition makes more sense. So, I've tweaked my list very slightly.

1. The Avalanches - Since I Left You
2. Burial - Untrue
3. Primal Scream - Xtrmntr
4. The Wrens - Meadowlands
5. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois

It's funny that three of my top five have famously yet to release an album to follow up their masterpieces (though Burial has released several excellent EPs, I'm sure The Avalanches and The Wrens are "still working on a follow up").

Just listened to this for the first time. Great stuff. The tone and production reminds me of The Meadowlands actually.

This thread made me listen to Illinois for 1st time in ages. Despite loving it must have been put off by the no. of tracks (and even longer track titles). Anyway found time to listen today (though still only managed to read through 17 of the track titles) and think it probably deserves a place, but the same could be said for:

Portishead - Third
Badly Drawn Boy - The Hour of Bewilderbeast
The Strokes - Is This It
The xx - xx

Not to mention Kid A, Neon Bible, Alligator and probably others. Only really the top 2 are definite as they're probably in my current top 3 of all time.

Kinda sounds like there were only 10 good albums in the 2000s...

My top 5, respectively #3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of all time :

1) Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
2) Arcade Fire - Funeral
3) Kanye West - The College Dropout
4) The Knife - Silent Shout
5) Puppetmastaz - Creature Funk

Other albums I'd give 5 stars : Sound of Silver, Illinois, In Case We Die, Relationship of Command, Feels, The Moon & Antarctica, Fever Ray, Visiter, Rated R, the Warning (and I'd give about 75 others 4,5 stars)
