Thanks for these last two corrections, Iagire. Strange result of a readers' poll though. How managed that particular James Brown compilation make the 15th place?

As you know I'm a Depeche Mode fan, so I was disappointed when I realised "Some Great Reward" was on the Switch list and it has to be removed. But then it turned out that it is also among the 17 additional albums on the Spex list. Some great reward!

The Shangri-La's should be written as The Shangri-Las. It seems grammatically incorrect, but that's how this act's name is written everywhere.

I'm not sure which is correct here, but A.R. Kane's 69 is given a score of 9/10 by the "Spin's Book of Alternative Albums." However in Simon Reynolds' own blog, the score that the book gave it is given as 10/10. http://reynoldsretro.blogspot.co.uk/200 ... ly-25.html I don't have the book to check, so anyone?

Strange thing when i was checking this list on AM "List by Japanese Critics - 100 Essential Albums (1998?)"

I also found entry(Searching on google search) from another list "List by Asian Critics - 100 Essential Albums (1998?)", which seems to disappear from AM > ex: AC/DC "Back in black"
http://www.tacocity.com.tw/abs1984/localroc.htm

What happened to this list? Readers list?

I don't know if somebody's mentioned this... Bob Marley's "One Love/People Get Ready" was actually released as a single in 1965, then re-recorded for Exodus in 1977. Should the year be changed, or do we just assume it's always the Exodus version listed?

After translating the first words at the top of this link, it seems that this list is an unorder list.

Viceversa (Italy) - 100 Rock Albums (1996)
https://web.archive.org/web/20051028133 ... ock100.htm
and found later in time, for the same web page, the list a little bit different and with others albums added and consequently some deleted.
https://web.archive.org/web/20021101231 ... ock100.htm
But again later in time, the same list than the first one??????

Impossible to find the complete list on Web, and theremore, there's apparently a 2007 version.

I confused you with "Crazy in Love" because you didn't mention it, but it is actually in the list (and missing on AM). Here are the ones you mentioned.

As you said, some sections of the list are missing on that archived page, but I own the magazine (from 2003) so I'm going through all sections right now. And again, B-Rock & The Bizz "MyBabyDaddy", Blind Lemon Jefferson "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean" and The Smiths' "Ask" are not there.

I have never seen a 2007 version.

The one by just The Band ranks at #2503 and the one by Bob Dylan and the Band is ranked at #2405. There is no version by Dylan without The Band, as the original recording by Dylan was recorded during The Basement Tape sessions. So there are two separate versions on AM.

You seem to be right. I only knew the Basement Tapes version and I thought that one appeared on Greatest Hits Vol II, but apparently not. Is that version better, I wonder? I've always been disappointed with the Basement one.

I caught a few errors:

The album Mingus at Antibes by Charles Mingus is ranked for the year 1961, but wasn't released until 1976. It was an archival release of a 1961 concert, but like Sam Cooke's Live at the Harlem Square Club, 1963 - released in and ranked under 1985 - it was released much later.

The group Euromasters are not from Germany, as this site claims, but from The Netherlands.

The song No Cars Go by Arcade Fire is ranked under the year 2007, but was already released in 2003 on the band debut EP. It was re-recorded for Neon Bible yes, but bar a few specifically labelled cases AM usual ranks the year of the first release of the first recording, doesn't it?
