The album Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim does not appear on the Antônio Carlos Jobim's page (and isn't counted as one of his albums?), though obviously it is credited as much to him as to Sinatra (on whose page it does appear).

Sweepstakes Ron wrote:So Duke Ellington's "Black, Brown, and Beige" is a whole symphony, and "Come Sunday" is just one movement of one of the three suites of the symphony, and then they're listed as separate songs here... is there something I'm missing?
Looking back, I think they should stay separate, because although "Come Sunday" was initially part of the larger work, it has become a standard in its own right. However, this opens up another problem.

One of the list "Come Sunday" appears on is Mauro Ronconi (Italy) - The Best Song from the 200 Best Albums (1998). I'm not certain which album it is from in this book, but I have reason to believe it's the 1958 album Black, Brown, and Beige, a revised version of the suite the features Mahalia Jackson. If so, that would be the same version as this song from Steve Sullivan's Encyclopedia of Great Popular Song Recordings, which is not listed for "Come Sunday" on AM.
stevejazz wrote:Come Sunday (July 3, 1958) - Mahalia Jackson with Duke Ellington & His Orchestra
Should that be separate from the one already listed, or not?

And to take it even further, two versions of "Black, Brown, and Beige" were mentioned in Guido Michielone's Jazz Forever.
stefanocarraro wrote:DUKE ELLINGTON - BLACK, BROWN AND BEIDGE (1943)
DUKE ELLINGTON & MAHALIA JACKSON - BLACK BROWN AND BEIDGE (1958)
The first one should obviously be counted towards the song already on AM, but what of the second one? Should that be counted as an album, even though its from a songs list?

Another Ellington note... Would the version of "In a Sentimental Mood" he did with John Coltrane be counted separately from the version already listed? I saw one list credit it just to Coltrane, but he never recorded it solo as far as I know.

Lee Morgan's album Search for the New Land is ranked for the year 1964, but both Wikipedia and Rate Your Music say it was released in 1966 (although it was recorded in 1964, but that shouldn't count).

Also a question that leads to a possible error: which album called The Animals is actually ranked for 1964? The Animals actually released two different albums under that title in that year, one for the US and one for the UK marker. Perhaps they are counted as one, despite only having a handful of tracks in common? I guess this issue could already have come up before.

And for the record, of the sources listed for the solo version, I know the Costello list specifically refers to the solo version, but the other two lists seem to have unfindable.

And the list that credited the duet version solely to Coltrane was Ted Gioia's "The History of Jazz": Recommended Listenings

This has probably already been mentioned, but just in case, there is an apostrophe missing in the title of James Brown's 1963 live album 'Live' at the Apollo, which most likely was a result of MS Excel's misreading of the apostrophe as turning the cell's contents into text.

Jackie Wilson's "Lonely Teardrops" is in the extended list of the 1001 Songs to Hear Before You Die, but it didn't end up showing on AM because the book accidentally switched the position of the artist and the title (this mistake carries over to the 2015 edition of the book).

The following corrections come from Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles, 1955-2015 and RYM:

Hey Baby should be 1961.

Treat Her Like a Lady should be 1970.

Rebirth of Slick should be 1992.

Get Out of My Life, Woman should be 1965.

Yet again I found two jazz albums wrongly dated. Apparently a genre with unclear release dates.

Grant Green's Idle Moments was released in 1965.
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers' Free for All was also released in 1965.

Both dates are confirmed by Wikipedia and Rate Your Music.

I's swear he did, though I can't find it quickly.

Anyway, another couple of wrongly dated jazz albums (as per Wikipedia and Rate Your Music):

Wayne Shorter's Speak No Evil should be 1966 instead of 1965
Wayne Shorter's The All-Seeing Eye should be 1966 instead of 1965
Herbie Hancock's Maiden's Voyage should be 1966 instead of 1965
Joe Henderson's Inner Urge should be 1966 instead of 1965

In other words, 1965 will lose a lot of ground to 1966.

More jazz-corrections. These two albums ranked in 1966 belong to 1967, according to both Wikipedia and Rate Your Music:

Wayne Shorter - Adam's Apple
Lee Morgan - Corn Bread

Also, the title of the two Ornette Coleman live albums Live at the Golden Circle are written wrong it should read:
At the "Golden Circle" Stockholm, Volume One/ Volume Two

I found a link at the bottom (for example this page) of all the pages, so I'm good (though I'd prefer it at the top). Sorry, I never think to look at the bottom for the home link. I'm not sure what you mean by the top of the pages though?

Fu-Gee-La should be 1995. It was already on the charts before the year ended.

Bad Time should be 1974.

Ignition should be 2002.

Hey Joe by the Leaves should be 1965.

Elusive Butterfly should be 1965.

Days of Wine and Roses should be 1962.

Way Over There should be 1960.

The above corrections come via Top Pop Singles (by Joel Whitburn), Wikipedia, and RYM.

I was also unsure about Peter Gunn. The TV show debuted in 1958. But the soundtrack was not released until 1959.
