I used to have these as 21s, but someone told me that "first offenders" meant "the worst". While that might be correct, it is a weird "worst of" list. Those albums aren't that bad... Maybe it means something like "first offenders to knock on the door to the top 20"?

But if it's not obvious that the "21s" just missed the top 20 (in a positive way) I will not add them.

I think this has been addressed previously (maybe on the old forum); I believe that it's eligible by virtue of the fact that none of its tracks had appeared on an album before. (The songs from the debut that are repeated on Hatful are Peel Sessions re-recordings.) NME included the album on its top 500 list in 2013 (in fact, it was #100), a list that (I think) explicitly excluded compilations.

The Others "offenders" are yet on AM, so i think it would be fair to add them.

I have included a few lists of standout songs from chosen albums, but when it's more than one song per album it is probably too unfair to songs not on the listed albums. Hence, these songs and Tom Moon's track picks won't be included.

The Mamas and the Papas "If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears" appears on this list at "Next Stop"
Idem for
- My Morning Jacket Evil Urges > Catalog Entry
- Jennifer Warnes Famous Blue Raincoat: The Songs of Leonard Cohen > Next Stop
http://www.1000recordings.com/music/heart-like-wheel/

Tom Moon (USA) - 1000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die (2008)
http://www.1000recordings.com/music/california-dreamin/

I don't see anymore Tristano, Lennie Crosscurrents Album, is it because it's considered as a compilation?

There's also another section at the end of the book which doesn't appears on AM named "108 more recordings to know about"
Some albums are yet on the book but i found at least one which is not on AM and perhaps others.
Boards of Canada The Campfire Headphase

http://www.amazon.com/000-Recordings-He ... 076113963X

After looking at this book and all world's music it contains, i have to definitely take gain this book on my library and post albums on AM.

Frank Sinatra's "All or Nothing at All" should be listed as 1939 (it's currently 1940), and as far as I can find, should be credited to Frank Sinatra with Harry James & His Orchestra, if we are indeed referring to one of Sinatra's very first records.

So Duke Ellington's "Black, Brown, and Beige" is a whole symphony, and "Come Sunday" is just one movement of one of the three suites of the symphony, and then they're listed as separate songs here... is there something I'm missing?

"Hips Don't Lie" should be listed in 2005, when the LP was released.

"I'm Getting Sentimental Over You" should be 1936. According to Wikipedia, it was written in 1932, but not recorded until 1935. It was released in 1936. The Tommy Dorsey box set I picked up today concurs.
