Actually, its from Vinícius de Moraes and Tom Jobim. The Stan Getz version it is the one with lyrics in English, and is a good version, but personally I like to hear the song in Portuguese. I find it somewhat more melodic (whatever that means) and the lyrics seems much more beautiful, like in this version from Pery Ribeiro:

How hilarious is it that an instrumental ("So What" at #216) is immediately followed by a song whose pull-quote is "Words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm"? It's things like that (or the two consecutive Odessey and Oracle tracks, or the bunching up of all those songs from Ziggy Stardust) which make these polls and their rollout so much fun (even if I didn't contribute to this one - songs lists are just too difficult for me).

Wait, those are the lyrics? So that's a very deserving highest new entry so far, but I'm amazed, stunned and very very happy to see that at least one other song released before the previous poll is swingin' through our poll like your neighborhood Spiderman right to the top 200, because I'll be damned if it isn't a fantastic song, and not the kind that gets support from this forum that easily. The Ecstasy of Gold is my coolest new discovery of the poll...I'm surprised I hadn't heard the song before. I assume I'll like Stella when I listen to it. Interesting that these tracks outpaced songs that had been in the poll before, like Theme de Yoyo and Modes D-F (too bad these didn't move up, seems like they just got the same votes they have before.

Loving This Will Be Our Year as the top Zombies song, I thought my love for that one was unique. Seems like there was pretty crazy vote splitting with the Zombies as 5 songs placed well but none in the top 150 (I remember Time of the Season was around 50 the year I ran the poll).

I'm loving the roll out. The quotes for all the top 500 is very ambitious! It took a while for me to just do the top 50 for the 2010s poll.

Too bad Soon fell-from the votes I was expecting a stronger finish. Lots of other thoughts later as I catch up with the results so far.

Yeah really happy about this placement, this is now by far my favorite rap song ever. Just absolutely insane production that shifts around unexpectedly, plus crazy over the top performances on the verses. It sounds like everyone was trying to outdo the verse before them.

Alright! At this rate we'll be done just in time for my birthday (on the 9th).

We have entered the Top 200; what I like to call the "AM Canon". While there are some left-field entries and other songs in the Canon that are seeded lower, I feel these are the 200 songs every AMer should hear to understand our demographics and get our little in-jokes.

I know every song now, but I shall provide some insightful and at times sarcastic remarks on some of my major observations in this gathering.

200. Eminem - Lose Yourself-My favorite rap song.

199. Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)-I will never enjoy this song as much as the rest of Funeral.

198. U2 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For-Sorry about the little kerfuffle around this song earlier. Good to know it didn't mess things up too much.

197. Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal-Okay. Not the 197th best song of all time, but fun and unique.

195. Wu-Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck-Strangest Top 200 entry. While I respect Wu-Tang for their innovation and how they weren't "just another rap group", they aren't for me.

190. Nina Simone - Sinnerman-The de facto Unacclaimed 1.0 Champion. And the hype has not ceased.

173. Janelle Monae - Tightrope-I just prefer "Cold War".

159. TV on the Radio - Wolf Like Me-This should have been on my list but I forgot about it. If I could have a do-over I'd probably cover "Club Foot" with this. But this should have been on my list, as it has been a major fixture of my list in the past.

158. Radiohead - Creep-Yes, my favorite Radiohead song is also their most accessible and thus the most hated by Radiohead fans. Well, I'd rather be predictable than lie to you.

157. Grimes - Oblivion-AUGH! My ears are bleeding! There isn't any tune and I can't even groove to it. Seriously, this is one of the worst songs I have ever heard and almost turned me off of Grimes completely. "REALiTi" has redeemed her a bit, but I cannot stand this song.

152. Sufjan Stevens - John Wayne Gacy, Jr.-Another song here that's just okay. Sufjan Stevens' best song is Chicago, and all his other stuff has ranged from meh to good. This is a good song lyrically with not much going for it musically.

127. Lana Del Rey - Video Games-BORING! I've said my peace about Lana del Ray many times before. She doesn't feel authentic or believable and her songs aren't even that good. I feel more from Lorde than from Lana. Lana is just another pop star with the glitter brushed off. Sorry, it's not as bad as "Oblivion", but it's another song on here I simply do not like.

123. Lou Reed - Perfect Day-I think Lou's death between polls helped this song somewhat. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you. I like it too and it was well-placed.

118. Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky-You knew it'd be on here. You knew it'd be high. So here it is, almost exactly echoing my vote for it. Y'know, "Midnight City" has not appeared yet. Given the results of our 2010s poll, a Top 100 finish is not too unfeasible. Oh well, "Get Lucky" now has its well-deserved place on this countdown.

110. Frank Ocean - Pyramids
101. Kanye West - Runaway

I'm grouping these songs together because I feel they are very similar in many ways. For me, the first four minutes for both songs are breathtaking. Experimental, insightful, well-produced. These are modern pop masterpieces...And then they sort of stagnate. The instrumentals get tedious. Yes, Frank's tuning is fine and Kanye's Autotune solo is fine but they get pretty boring after a time. While I like both, I cannot bring myself to vote for either.

So what's #1? "Like a Rolling Stone"? "Smells Like Teen Spirit"? "All My Friends"? Something nobody called like last time? Are there any other new entries? Why am I asking so many rhetorical questions? Let's sally forth because the best is yet to come! No matter who wins, it was a fun journey.

This one it's my favorite Arcade Fire song! I feel that it has power. The other day I saw a video when they played it live, and closer to the end it began to snow (fake snow, of course). It was beautiful, like if the song was not only music.

Oh my, I can't say I like Lana Del Rey, but I can say that I do not like Lorde. This song does not seem bad for me, though.

I suspect it will be "Good Vibrations" or maybe "Like a Rolling Stone". I never understand how "Like a Rolling Stone" it can be considered the best song of all time. I wish it were "Smells Like Teen Spirit", but I guess it is not very likely.

Radiohead fans hate Creep? I'd never heard that. It's not any more accessible than the hits from Bends.

Like A Rolling Stone is pretty close to the top of my list though not my #1 of all time. Besides the song's emotional energy and perfect production, the thing that grabs you immediately about it is the storytelling and the schaudenfreude. You imagine the song is about whatever entitled rich person's child who has never had to work in her life and thinks she's better than everyone is currently on TV throwing tantrums over getting the wrong Mercedes.

The thing that annoys me about Creep is that a lot of songs on Pablo Honey sound the same as that, at least a lot of them have that same kind of shout at the end. I wish I had never heard that album and I would appreciate Creep more.

I get all that. It's a great song. Just only in my Top 200 as opposed to my Top 10. "Knocking on Heaven's Door" is my favorite Dylan song because I like the dark mysticism and apocalyptic themes. Actually, if you count Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower" (Which Dylan wrote), then that's my favorite song penned by Dylan.

And you'd be surprised at the backlash "Creep" gets. I once heard someone tell me "How can you like 'Creep' AND OK Computer?"
