But if I'm going to be a little bit less than nice, I might as well come out and say it. "Dreams" is quite possibly the most generic, derivative song of Beck's entire career, and it's sad that a prodigious innovator like Beck has released a song that sounds like it could have been put out by any one of the hundreds of bland, pseudo-indie rock/pop groups that currently soundtrack credit card commercials and proliferate local "alternative" radio stations.

It's tough to believe there are only three months left of 2015, which means we're likely less than two months away from the beginning of the "best of the year" lists being released.

Though I seem to hold some minority opinions with Grimes (I liked "Go" a lot more than "REALiTi"), I REALLY liked this new song because of how well she treads the line between bubblegum pop and her normal sound on it.
