I don't know whether or not to call "Only One" a 2014 or 2015 song. Since it placed last year, I won't count it, but it's currently in a slight lead.

Birds of Tokyo-Anchor (The rest of the EP was disappointing, though)
British India-Wrong Direction
Civil Twilight-Holy Dove
Civil Twilight-Story of an Immigrant
Courtney Barnett-Pedestrian at Best
Dodos-Competition
Kendrick Lamar-These Walls
Pop Noir-Don't Fool Yourself
Tori Kelly-Nobody Love
" Ah, yes! Our meager restitution"

I haven't done enough listening this year to make a good song list, but expect "Realiti" to rank very high in my all-time songs list.

Here's a song I'm surprised isn't on more lists.

Beck-Dreams

I actually think it's his best work, even over "Loser".

It wasn't out when I made my original list, but it's probably Top 3 this year, easily.

I'm a pretty big fan of Beck, but let's just say that this song isn't my cup of tea (and that's putting it really, really nicely).

But if I'm going to be a little bit less than nice, I might as well come out and say it. "Dreams" is quite possibly the most generic, derivative song of Beck's entire career, and it's sad that a prodigious innovator like Beck has released a song that sounds like it could have been put out by any one of the hundreds of bland, pseudo-indie rock/pop groups that currently soundtrack credit card commercials and proliferate local "alternative" radio stations.

Maybe early to make predictions, but "The Blacker the Berry", "Realiti", "Pedestrian at Best", "Let it Happen" are strong candidates to be in the top 10 of most acclaimed songs of the year.

It's tough to believe there are only three months left of 2015, which means we're likely less than two months away from the beginning of the "best of the year" lists being released.

With that said, does anyone have any predictions on what songs will top the lists this year? Below are my predictions, although I'm sure I'm missing many songs.

The Blacker the Berry, Kendrick Lamar
Pedestrian at Best, Courtney Barnett
King Kunta, Kendrick Lamar
Let It Happen, Tame Impala
REALiTi, Grimes
Cause I'm a Man, Tame Impala
Can't Feel My Face, The Weeknd
Times Square, Destroyer
Gosh, Jamie xx
Run Away With Me, Carly Rae Jepsen
Here, Alessia Cara
I Know There's Gonna Be, Jamie xx
Sparks, Beach House
Loud Places, Jamie xx
No Shade in the Shadow of the Cross, Sufjan Stevens
Should Have Known Better, Sufjan Stevens
Coffee, Miguel
Sunday Candy, Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment
Leave a Trace, Chvrches
How Could You Babe, Tobias Jesso Jr

Hotline Bling, Drake
I Really Like You, Carly Rae Jepsen

I think that "The Less I Know the Better" might be the underrated gem of Currents.

Going to have to add "Ch-Ching" by Chairlift, "Energy" and "Hotline Bling" by Drake, and "Run Away With Me" by Carly Rae Jepsen (I'm beyond judgement) to my list. Lots of enjoyable pop music.

Grimes has posted a new video here:
https://vimeo.com/143560069

"Flesh Without Blood"

Will be included on 'Art Angels'.

On first listen, I'm mildly disappointed. Sounds a lot more generic that what we're used to from her.

It's gone... AND I JUST BARELY MISSED IT WHAT THE HELL

But from what I've heard, we can all say goodbye to the Grimes we thought we knew (musically, that is).

Though I seem to hold some minority opinions with Grimes (I liked "Go" a lot more than "REALiTi"), I REALLY liked this new song because of how well she treads the line between bubblegum pop and her normal sound on it.
