Wow, thanks Jackson! With 7 #1 votes, Kanye blew the opposition away. Surprised to see the remaining top 3 include Arcade Fire and PJ Harvey. I didn't really think either of those would develop into stone cold classics of the decade (even though I quite like them both).

This top ten is not particularly surprising, but it is interesting to me that Let England Shake got 5 more votes than MBDTF. Though Kanye ran away with the poll, there were 14 voters who didn't even list the album (5 albums got more than 24 votes!).

If you look at the 'biggest fans' section, you'll notice a lot of the same names voting for some of these top ten albums. The power of the 'consensus vote' was huge at the top of this poll. I did an exercise where I determined the order of the list after stripping out the top consensus voters that I'll post later.

Very interesting analysis. I was one of those 14 who didn't even list MBDTF. I also did not include three other albums in the top ten in my list, including: Teen Dream (Beach House), High Violet (The National), and good kid, m.A.A.d City (Kendrick Lamar).

A bit late to the party, but thanks Jackson.

Happy to see Julia Holter unexpectedly high.

I noticed the same thing re: consensus vote and was going to ask exactly the above... look forward to it.

It's hard not to notice a lot of Pitchfork favorites dropping considerably once the consensus-leaning votes are removed.

Here are the voters in order (percentage of points given to top 20 songs in parentheses):

1 Nick (33%)

28 sonofsamiam (7%)
29 bonnielaurel (7%)
30 Phil (6%)
31 Nassim (6%)
32 antonius (5%)
33 Henrik (5%)
34 Greg (2%)
35 Depeche Mode (0%)

For this one I determined consensus a little differently: because the size of lists varied quite a bit and there was less consensus than with albums, I used % of total points given to songs that finished in the consensus top 20.
