Ornette Coleman 1958 - 2006
Scott Walker 1967 - 2014
Robert Wyatt 1974 - 2007
Ry Cooder 1972 - 2011

Maybe mine was a bit too difficult. They are the only artists that have AM ranked albums or songs during 4 (Scott Walker even 5) decades, without being in AM's top 100 artists of all time. Ry Cooder is all the way down at #396.

Since the last update, this list no longer has meaning, but here's a similar list:

1. St. Vincent - St. Vincent
2. Run the Jewels - Run the Jewels 2
3. The National - High Violet
4. Janelle Monae - The ArchAndroid
5. Caribou - Our Love
