Welcome to the AMF 1960s poll.
If you have any questions, please ask them in the current voting year thread. This thread will be reserved strictly for nucleating the poll.
Here is a schedule for the poll:
February: 1960
March: 1961
April: 1962
May: 1963
June: 1964
July: 1965
August: 1966
September: 1967
October: 1968
November: 1969
December: Voting for Final Poll
January: Results
Here are the basic rules for the poll:
1. Please submit lists of your favourite albums and songs for each year. Only lists with at least 5 songs/albums will be counted. Your top 15 albums and top 15 songs will receive points as shown below. However, feel free to post lists much longer than just a top 15.
1. 50
2. 40
3. 30
4. 20
5. 15
6. 10
7. 9
8. 8
9. 7
10. 6
11. 5
12. 4
13. 3
14. 2
15. 1
2. Each month the 10 songs and 10 albums with the most points will automatically qualify for the final poll. To advance to the final list, songs/albums must have a minimum of 2 votes. In case of a tie for 10th position, a tie-breaker will be set up.
3. Once voting is completed for the 10 year polls, The 50 albums and 50 songs that received the most points during voting while failing to automatically qualify for the final poll will also go forward to the final poll. When there is release date confusion, and AMFers vote for the same song/album in different year polls, these mis-matched votes will be accumulated towards these ‘wild-card’ positions, so (hopefully..) release date disagreements will be resolved without much fuss.
4. Your list must be posted in the thread for the year you are voting for before the deadline (unless you are lucky enough to get it in before the votes are tallied).
5. EPs and compilations will not be counted.
Additional information:
1. I will report the 50 wild-card qualifiers as it stands each month as we go along.
2. I will also report the 50 that would qualify based on points per voter so that we can all see how these alternate tallying methods compare for future reference.
