Journalists Doing EoY Analysis

Stumbled onto this article about EoY 'data-mining' a few days ago. It's an article written by Rob Mitchum (Pitchfork) regarding his own research into EoY analysis. Wondered if anyone else had seen it and what they thought about it.

Many thanks for posting this Matski, this was an enjoyable read that reminded me (as Mitchum alluded to in the article) of the fantastic analysis Glenn McDonald has done for Pazz & Jop the last few years.

I also found it humorous that nearly all of the trends he noted have been at least mentioned in passing on our forums (I'm not sure if we've touched upon the state of female artists in the round up yet... Discussion anyone?), looks like we ARE the cutting edge of EoY analysis
