As if there wasn't enough going on here already on this, the first day of September... it's also time for Random Rules!

All you need to do is submit your list of 10 random songs - the next ten that come up via the random generator on your entire music library. We'll pull them all together then start the next part in a couple days (48 hours or 10 lists, whichever comes last), then start the elimination process to create the Random Rules Jukebox for September.

Can't find the Raitt tune on youtube; the track listed under her album Slipstream is (obviously) not correct. This cover will have to do if you don't know the song; actually it's a pretty good cover!

Hmmm, I might try producing a list from my iPod next month (it has around 4000 songs on it vs the 11 and 1/2 k my library has) just for the sake of variety, but in the meantime, give it your best shot iTunes.

I have to say, I'm pretty ecstatic about this list, but I guess a list this beautifully eclectic had to come up eventually (I'm especially stoked to see "Life's a Happy Song", I have a massive soft spot for that movie)
The case of the Decemberists is a little complicated though, considering I learned of its existence and purchased it courtesy of the January Random Rules, so I'm not sure it deserves a second stint in the game... If anyone has any strong feelings on the matter one way or another, feel free to share, but I'll keep the 11th song here in the meantime.
