Boyhood film: the Black Album

Post by irreduciblekoan »

If you've seen the film, you will know that there is a touching and amusing scene where the main character's dad (played by Ethan Hawke) gives his son a self made 3-CD box set called the Black Album. For it, he collected what he thought were the best solo Beatles tunes, and structured the discs to flow musically and thematically. The full tracklist as well as a few words by Hawke are in this article: http://www.buzzfeed.com/ethanhawke/boyh ... m?s=mobile

Has anyone tried out this massive playlist? If so, how does it work as a continuous listen? I'm thinking about trying it myself on a day when I have the time to collect the tracks.

Excellent movie, by the way!
