Man, I'm not gonna lie, these American artist versus games are, so far, pretty easy, for me at least.

9. Marvin Gaye (Washington DC)
24. Johnny Cash (Tennessee)
25. Creedence Clearwater Revival (California)

I'll pass on the final matchup, since I'm not familiar enough with Tom Rush to make an informed decision.

8. R.E.M. (Georgia)
57. Tom Rush (New Hampshire)
And now that i've heard a Tom Rush song, i can vote for R.E.M. without hesitation

25. Creedence Clearwater Revival (California)
40. Lynyrd Skynyrd (Florida)
This was a toss-up until I realized that "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Free Bird" stand head and shoulders above anything by CCR, in my opinion. So far, the toughest match-up for me.

8. R.E.M. (Georgia)
57. Tom Rush (New Hampshire)

Thanks Listyguy for putting this together... It has been awhile since I have done an UMT and I am not sure I will have time to do another one in the near future. This helps fill the void.

Johnny Cash even though he's only my third fav country artist, behind Willie Nelson and Hank Williams.

CCR cos I like many of their songs; they have many classics. Lynyrd Skynyrd has only two classic songs, and I personally think Sweet Home Alabama is good, but nothing special.

Tom Rush cos I don't like REM very much, and I thought The Circle Game was quite good.

9. Marvin Gaye (Washington DC)
56. Peggy Lee (North Dakota)

Abstain because I have no familiarity with Peggy Lee

24. Johnny Cash (Tennessee)

40. Lynyrd Skynyrd (Florida)

8. R.E.M. (Georgia)

CCR/Lynyrd Skynyrd was a tough call. I have both positive and negative feelings about Skynyrd but no strong feelings either way about CCR, so I went with the mixed feelings.

Though Lynyrd Skynyrd is responsible for some of the stupidest songs ever. "Gimme Three Steps", a song about how having a gun pointed in your face for flirting with a guy's girlfriend is a normal occurrence not, as normal people would assume, resulting in an assault with a deadly weapon charge. "Red, White And Blue", "My neck is still red, my hair's turning red, my collar is BLUUUUEEE", a song way ahead of its time in cheesy faux-humble nationalistic pandering.

Hey, a friendly question:
Why if the tournament covers "America", only U.S. artists will be taken into account?
We are Americans too! :greetings-waveyellow: :D
