Yes - Fragile 90
Pink Floyd - Animals 85
Nic Jones - Penguins Eggs 84
Love those folk singers whose performance conveys unique emotion. Also I like the song overlap with Anais Mitchell's Child Ballads.
U2 - Zooropa 77
Arto Lindsay - Mundo Civilizado 76
The Cars - The Cars 74

For Misty In Roots, there are several different albums called 'Live at Counter Eurovision' and none of them had a year on them. Is one of these the right album to listen to?

Molotov - donde jugaran los niños? 62

It seemed like they were going for intentionally cheesy lyrics and it just wound up cheesy. Like they're just throwing around hip hop cliches.

The correct name of the Molotov album is "¿Dónde jugarán las niñas?" ("Where Will the Girls Play?") and it's meant to be a parody, a pun on the name of a previous album by Maná, "¿Dónde jugarán los niños?" ("Where Will the Children Play?"), including a quite explicit photograph on the cover showing actually where will the girls play. The confussion comes from a mistake by Blanco that nominated both albums (Maná's and Molotov's, both Mexican bands) but with the names switched, mistake that himself acknowledged on this thread.

I listened to this album and I suppose it's the correct one. It's not on Spotify but you can find it in Grooveshark (except the third song, "Ghetto of the City," that you can find here).

1. Yes - Fragile

2. Pink Floyd - Animals
I think Zooropa is underrated, and Animals is overrated, but still that's not enough to bridge the gap.

3. Nic Jones - Penguins Eggs
Love "Farewell to the Gold", but the protagonist should have relocated to the West Coast as the characters in The Luminaries did rather that getting all maudlin.

4. Misty In Roots – Live at the Counter Eurovision 79
Surely there is no other artist who's debut album is live and their best album. "When we tread this land, we walk for one reason, the reason is to try to help another man to think for himself" - Admirable motivation for a great album.

Some issues dropped the '79' from the title, but all versions contain the same 8 tracks. Even on Grooveshark, if you magnify the album cover you will see that '79' is in the title.

Yes - Fragile
Pink Floyd - Animals
Arto Lindsay - Mundo Civilizado
Misty In Roots – Live at the Counter Eurovision 79

Favorite album I didn't vote for: The Cars - The Cars (easily)
Favorite track off any album: "Moving In Stereo"- The Cars (easily)

Since "Moving In Stereo" is one of my all-time top 100 songs, it's very possible it could end up being my favorite track off all albums. Yet I'm still voting for Yes, because "Fragile" is consistently great to me, while The Cars has a few lulls. As for Misty In Roots, I just found a track list from a website for the live '79 album and then pieced it together on YouTube. Hopefully, I listened to the right album, because what I heard was well worth the effort.

The Bregović album is available in Grooveshark but there is not a link where you can find it complete, in this link tracks 7 and 11 ("War" and "Sheva") are missing and in this other link the missing tracks are 4 and 5 ("Ya Ya (Ringe Ringe Raja)" and "Cajesukarije-Čoček"). But combining these two links you can listen to the whole album.

Oh, my! Not a single vote for Molotov?! I really have always liked Molotov. Some of his songs are catchy, it's true. Which is very strange, because the language used is very rough. However, the importance of this album lies not only in the music itself. (By the way, I love the double bass. There are glorious moments with the bass.) They denounce and reject racism; they call for the the union of Latin American people, and they also criticize politics and the media in Mexico, since that media manipulate information and lead our society to ignorance. I know that with this, I'm not talking about the music as such, but I mention it because honestly, I have affection for the album. And maybe I have bad syntax here because I'm writing in a hurry. Sorry. Haha.
